Happy Birthday...

... Dad!

He came down with Mum, from North Queensland to visit us and hasn't had a break yet! I think I may have found him one or two odd jobs to complete for me! hehehe... Anyway, have a great day.

And Happy BIRTHday to our new niece, Moriah Jane, born early this morning. I've been to the hospital for a visit already and fell in love with the little pink bundle! Mother and babe are doing just fine.

Break out the hairspray...

...because it's "Crazy Hair Day" again!!!

Don't you just love these fun days they have at school! Beside the glitter hairspray, I suggested to Liam that I put some ribbons and bows in there as well... That idea didn't go down too well! Lol!! He was happy with plain spikey hair that had subtle bling! (the glitter)...

And speaking of hair... He's very lucky to have some left to be spiked! Only a week ago, his younger brother (3 years old), decided he would try his hand at cutting hair... Liam decided to be Ethan's customer!
They were equally to blame... Liam had to sit quite patiently while Ethan determinedly hacked and sawed through the fringe area of Liam's hair with a pair of (very blunt), red-handled, paper cutting, school scissors!
Both boys are blessed with very thick hair on their heads, so... the damage is hardly noticeable! Lol! But it was still a shock to see great chunks of hair, spread all over the patio floor! After a good laugh and a quick phone call to my wonderful friend, (who happens to be a "mobile" hairdresser), the damage was quietly disguised!
Ethan was chastised for using scissors with the intent of cutting hair instead of paper, and Liam learned a valuable lesson in being a guinea-pig for his younger brother!
So there's the first ever story of "my" children chopping locks of hair... Can't say I will share the incident where I played hairdresser to my younger cousin any day soon....

I've done it again!...

I really have to make a conscious effort to keep in touch with friends and family through this little blog of mine! Yikes! It's been so long between posts lately and just forget about scrapping at the moment!!! *sigh*... I can only blame my lack of enthusiasm due to the ongoing morning sickness and exhaustion even though I am now half way through my pregnancy! Half way and COUNTING!!!! Lol!

In between posts I have celebrated a birthday, got stuck into helping out in the school classrooms, Liam started Grade One homework and had his first reader, Tahlia is back at Ballet and Jazz, Ethan has discovered a new independence, my parents have come for a visit and we are still eagerly awaiting the birth of our new niece! Phew! Hope I didn't forget anything!

Anyway... I am making a commitment (one I can hope to maintain!) to sticking with this little blog! Please help me out with lots of encouragement! Lol!

So for now I leave with some photos of what we have been doing lately... Thanks for sticking by me! hehehe...

A lovely trip up to the Glass House Mountains on my birthday...

Liam's first reading book. Ironically, it was pouring down with rain, the afternoon he first read this!...

And start of year school photos... (before haircuts - that in itself is another story!). Thanks for stopping by.

Fire and Flood...

My heart aches for all those out there suffering from the devastating loss in our country at the moment. The fires raging out of control in the south, with unimaginable numbers of people perishing... And the equally haunting images of flooding in the north.

The same river my children were playing in at Christmas time has caused enormous damage, flooding and rising above the bridge we sheltered under. Rivers, not only near my families' homes, but also in the surrounding areas, cut off entire townships, bringing with it the dangers of crocodiles and snakes.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all who have been touched by these tragedies.
