Hi Everyone! It is my turn to host the *new* fortnightly challenge over at The Boxx. My challenge again, is based on journaling. Kathie Link recently set off a light bulb moment with me and even though I journal on all my layouts, I think I still lose focus sometimes... It was really nice to have this wake-up call. For me, I want to put a little more detail into the writing on the page...

What I am challenging scrappers at The Boxx to do is easy!! Just record a conversation. But it has to be longer than two written lines.

{My Frankenstein}

journaling: L: "Mum? Can I go as a zombie to school for book week?" Me: "A ZOMBIE?!" L: "Yeah.. or a monster of some kind?" Me: "Ummm..What about Frankenstein?" L: "CooL! Who's that?"

*sigh* LOL!! Then I had to explain about Mary Shelley and that Frankenstein was actually a book character and not originally from a tv show!!

Liam had a great morning on parade and was determined to stay in costume all day! (The school encouraged them to stay "in character" for the day). I'm not sure about how the mask worked in the classroom though! LOL!! I'm sure his teacher had it under control!

The Boxx newsletter is out and I have some layouts to share....

From the Book of You kit, I got to play with these gorgeous papers from Girls' Paperie...

{Made Just for Her}

Tahlia's Great-grandad had this doll's house made for her not long before he passed away. She just loves it. Always has, and even now you will still find her sitting in front of it, rearranging the doll's furniture or gently playing.

This layout is also from the BOY kit (because the paper's are so pretty I just didn't want to throw out any scrap pieces)...

{Not so Little Girl}

Also in this month's newsletter, a challenge was issued to the DT to create a layout based on artwork from the Expressionism period. I chose this piece of art by Kandinsky...

..which inspired this layout from me...

{Purple Balloon}

A little bit different for me but I do like the way the lollipop flowers turned out. :) It was a lot of fun and the challenge will no doubt go up in the forum soon. I can't wait to see your creations! Thanks for visiting..x

The new sketch is up over at Inspired Blueprints....

...and this is my interpretation.....

I love this photo of Tahlia looking all vulnerable. It inspired me to journal about her fragile emotions! Such a girly girl!! I hope you go over to IB and try out the sketch. Thanks for visiting...x

Book Week...

Okay... So I know I'm a little premature in sharing these pics (the school book week parade isn't until Tuesday...) but, I was just too excited! LOL!! We are actually prepared this year! ha! Last year it was a little crazy (you know how it is - the crazy type that has a newborn in the house!!).

Well this year, I. Was. Going. To. Be. Ready!! hee hee... Can you guess what characters the kids have chosen??

Tahlia wants to be Alice from Alice in Wonderland... and Liam....?

He wanted to be Frankenstein! LOL!!! The best part (for me anyway!) is, that these characters are from actual books! hee hee... No Ben Ten or Barbie this year. :D

Create...& family life...

There has been so much happening that I feel like I have fallen off the grid here in blogging land! :D Sorry Guys! hee hee... But I do have something I can share.

The next prompt is up at Journal Challenges and we are documenting our "favourites".

This is what I came up with...
{Favourite no. 4}

I wanted to think outside the box with this challenge and I know it's cliche to go with a picture of your kids so.... I journaled about the number 4. And especially about what it means to me now.

journaling reads: until this moment i've never really had a favourite number. not even a lucky one. but i've grown to love 4 because of you. i am blessed 4 times over, i have 4 times the amount of love and 4 times the joy. 4 is just perfect for me...x i love you guys.

Also in the past week, we have celebrated a new member of our family (our nephew Elijah)...

Isn't he the cutest!!!

Mark has celebrated another birthday...

Happy birthday honey!! WE LOVE YOU!!! Mwah!!

We've had hockey carnivals....

Supported our nephews soccer semi-finals (big brothers to Elijah)...

Bounced...

Danced...
and entertained...
Not to mention kicking footballs (Auskick), having tantrums, making messes, doing puzzles, visiting friends, dressing up, gardening and going to school. In between all this, not much scrapping is getting done!! So tomorrow, I may have to forget about the tantrums just to fit some in! LOL!!

Two words...

I am playing along with my friend Lusi and her fun way of documenting the here and now. I love this idea. It stops me from thinking too much and just getting it done. Two words. It's simple. Document in words and pictures.

{morning wake-up}

{exploring boy}

{garden flowers}

{healing bones}

{sporting achievements}

Our new Nephew & create...

I'm an Auntie all over again!! Yay!! We have a new beautiful baby boy in the family. This will be baby number five for Mark's brother and his wife.

We can't wait to meet and welcome little baby "Elijah" into our world. Congratulations Andrew and Fara.

.......................................................................................................................

It is a very rainy and scrappy day here. I think most of the East Coast will get a drink today, which is lovely. It feels nice and cozy. Now all I need are some scrapping supplies in front of me and a nice hot chocolate!! Mmmm..

But for now, I will share a layout I prepared earlier! LOL!

{Grow Bot}

It still has some tweaking left... That's what I might go and start with now... Thanks for visiting...x

PS - Thanks to everyone who left a comment in my last post. We all seem to be doing much better this week (health-wise) and I am so very glad that Tahlia's arm is on the mend! LOL!!

The week that repeated...

Ummmm... Somewhere during this week, I have repeated myself. Not with the scrapping (although that is happening as I blog for Kaisercraft!), not with my words (although I am constantly in repeat mode with the kids - do this... put this on... don't do that...!) but with my week. Not making any sense??? No. I'm sure I'm not.

This week I have had a repeat visit to the dentist, with Ethan. All is fine there. Just some minor fillings required. Yuk. It seems the family trait of reflux is playing havoc with his poor little teeth. We now have to visit a paediatric dentist!

(about the photo: don't ask!!! LOL!)
...................................................................................................................................

But the major "deja vu" episode this week would have to be Tahlia and her fractured "right" wrist. On Monday, her school rang me to let me know she had fallen and injured her wrist. She was home by lunch and in complete pain. She then started to complain about her "left" wrist. I just put the pain down to her wrist and hand being over stressed because it is not used to being used for doing everything. Gave her some children's neurophen and helped her into bed.

Tuesday morning and both arms are still very sore. I rang to make a doctor's appointment, but of course couldn't get in any earlier then 3.30pm. So off to school she went. Sling on her "good" arm! LOL!! By afternoon, her poor little wrist was very swollen and the doctor couldn't even touch it without Tahlia flinching. Off we went, four kids in tow, to get another x-ray. You should have seen the bewildered looks I got when I confirmed with the radiologist technician that she was to x-ray the "left" arm. Not the "right" one which is already in a cast up to her elbow! hee hee...

Anyway, by Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, we had so many phone calls, text messages and general enquires about "How on Earth did Tahlia "break" both of her arms????"

By Wednesday afternoon, we had the results of the radiologist report. NO FRACTURE. Yippee! Both the Doctor and I (especially me) sighed a HUGE sigh of relief! LOL! And so this is how she has been getting around at school since then....

She has a sense of humour about it. The rest of us just can't believe the whole ludicrousness of the situation. And I felt for her teacher. Another child in the class broke his arm about a week ago. It's not looking good for 5E at the moment! hee hee...

So, as you can see, this week has been unusual. Mark has been home sick and poor Liam, over shadowed by his big sister's predicament, has tonsillitis back again. And of course, Cam is growing more teeth....

I think I might just stay in bed this weekend and recover from everyone else's ailments!!! LOL!!

ps - sorry. I did say this was going to be a scrappy posting week. I have more to share. I guess I'm just going to put it on hold for a few days.....x

Have you seen the new texture stamps from Kaisercraft? I love them and they are so much fun to play with!!

We recently had a challenge to see what we could come up with by using them. This is what I created:

{Sandcastles}

I used the bubble wrap clear stamp and some gorgeous yellow paint to create some interest behind my photos. I also used the script clear stamp over the top of both.

They are so versatile and very easy to use, even if you don't have a stamp block big enough to hold it! LOL!! Go and check out what the rest of the team has created!

Hi there! So far so good with my scrapping shares, right?! hee hee... Today we are heading back to Kaisercraft and Kerryn and I have been playing with the "Secret Bird Society" collection.

The colours in these papers, the embellishments and fun names given to the patterned papers in the collection, have me jumping up and down with joy! LOL!! I just had to create a playful layout... (and tell me, who doesn't have this type of photo in their collection!! LOL!)

{Swing}

I am loving the script background paper (Disguise, p547) but I have used an envelope to balance the fussiness of it all. Use what you have on hand, right?! A little bit of glimmermist has been added to the opposite corners and it just brings out the hint of sunset in the photos.

I hope you are enjoying my shares so far. Thanks for visiting....x

..................................................................................................................................................

Just wanted to add a special message to my online friend, who has recently had a sad loss in her family....Know that I am thinking of you and your family at this time....x

Today I want to share with you my sketch layout from Inspired Blueprints. Sketch #53 is up and the design team have used between 2 and 4 photos on this one! It is so versatile that I decided to turn it on its side....

{City Art}

But then I wanted to play some more and used the sketch as is...

{Cupcake}

I hope you will go and check out what the talented Scrappers are creating over at IB. Sketches are heaps of fun and they definitely get the mojo flowing if you've been stuck in a rut! Have fun and please post your layout in the gallery. I would love to see how you have worked with the sketch.....x

Hi everyone...

This is the start to (hopefully) a very scrappy sharing week! LOL! Did that even make sense???

Kerryn and I are hosting the Kaisercraft Blog this week (yep! that came around pretty fast!!) and we have been busy playing with the two latest collections. Yay!! Today, we are sharing the layouts we created with "Hippy Girl".

{Miss T}

The other layout I've created was for Ethan. That's the great thing about these patterned papers. Even though you have a mind set that "Hippy Girl" was developed just with little girls in mind, you can still create boyish layouts.

{A Rainy Day Adventure}

So what do you think? The big question now is......can I keep up with this scraptacular for ONE. Whole. Week. ? hee hee! I'll give it a go! Thanks for visiting...x
