Greatest View | Remember This..

Hello Friends and welcome to the Greatest View Style It Up Week

I just wanted to share with you all a layout I created for the Greatest View blog today.  This layout started out as a normal scrapbooking page documenting Tahlia's habits at the moment.  But suddenly it transformed, with a bit of a reflection, on what happened earlier this week when my husband, daughter and daughter's friend were involved in a car accident.  They are all okay now, thank goodness, even though Tahlia was in hospital overnight... :(

"Remember This"

products used: cs - kaisercraft, DCWV; pp - Echo Park, Crate Paper, Bella BLVD; Greatest View - In Style badges/flairs, yellow chevron ribbon, pink twine, free printable journaling tags; other - Bella BLVD designer tape, Manor House flowers, kaisercraft mini blooms & pearls, October Afternoon Sprinklers (midway - token); tools - Fancy That Dies (Moroccan wall), black pen (sharpie) ek success border punch.

If you would like to know more of the story behind this layout AND get some free printable journaling tags, please visit Greatest View.  Thanks so much for visiting..x

Up on the Bella Blog today is the second inspiration photo for the month and I was one of the lucky designers who got to play along.

I love the colours in this photo and the background pattern.  I also love the big navy and white bow!

Jillibean Soup | Just a Note..

Hi Everyone!  Did you know I have a thing for orange.  *grin*  And teal.  Oh my.  I just love anything teal coloured at the moment!  In fact, the accent colour in my scrap space is teal!  LOL! AND.., because I love these colours so much, I was inspired to combine them together for my latest layout over at Jillibean Soup.

"Just a Note"

products used: cs - kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: soup labels, pea pod parts (die cuts), journaling cards, epoxy buttons, twine (bean stalks); kaisercraft wooden flourish and ink, clear stamp (unknown); tools - silhouette portrait, machine stitching.

I've included some hidden journaling below the Soup Label (Just A Note) and used my silhouette to cut some chevron tags.

What are the colours you tend to gravitate towards lately?  I'd love to know and hope that you share what your "faves" are, in the comments section below!!  :)  Thanks for visiting..x

The Scrapbook Store | A Video Tutorial..

Hello Friends.  I have a little share today that's not just your normal photos and words.  Yep.  I've delved into the Video Tutorial world once again.  I must admit though, I quite like playing with the editing once I have filmed the bits I need to film... minus my big head getting in the way every now and then.  *grin*  Oh well... It's a learning curve.

Any way... This video was created for The Scrapbook Store.  You will see the whole layout put together right in front of your eyes!  Just like magic!  hahaha! But I can only give you a little taste of it here...

If you want to see it in full.. Please head  on over to The Scrapbook Store.  Thanks for visiting..x

Life.Paper.Scrapbook | Sketch..

Hello! Who is ready to play along with Life.Paper.Scrapbook's 2nd sketch challenge?  The team have put together some fantastic examples for you all to enjoy!  Check out the Design Team layouts >>here<<.

Here's the sketch...

And my sample..

"Sand Pies"

products used: cs - kaisercraft; pp - Bella BLVD, Jillibean Soup, Echo Park; alpha - Amy Tangerine American Crafts; other - Jo Sonja's paint, Jenni Bowlin paint dabber (yellow); tools - black pen (sharpie), star punch. photo credit: Cindy Devine.

This sketch is very minimalist.. even for me!  LOL!  But I have beefed it up by using layers of paint and pen where the circles are.  To create them, I used different sized sponge dabbers for circles and the small green ones were made with the eraser on the end of a pencil.  I didn't want to go too crazy with the paint but I still wanted the illusion of movement across the page.

After the paint was added and the photo positioned, I used a roll of washi tape to sketch out the circles..

The Scrapbook Store | Platform No. 2..

Hi Everyone.  I am back to share a little more of the Echo Park collection, Scoot, for The Scrapbook Store.

I have said previously that these papers are fabulous for boys and outdoor fun.  And once again, I have focused in on the train aspect of the collection. ...I did mention that my boys LOVE trains, right?  *grin*  They love them even more when they get the chance to see the real things up close.

"Platform No.2"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Echo Park (Scoot); alpha - Amy Tan (American Crafts thickers); other  - Echo Park Scoot stickers, glimmermist; tools - circle punch.

On this particular day, we were seeing Nanny off to the airport via the train station.  Cam had mixed feelings.  LOL!  He was sad to see Nanny go home but still quite excited to see the train station where he thinks daddy "works"!

The colours in this collection are so fresh!  And I'm not shy when it comes to teaming up yellow and turquoise!!  LOL! I love how they pop on the white cardstock background.

I've added plenty of layers with the stickers and patterned papers to create some interest, but have still retained the emphasis on railway tracks, crossings and "choo choo" trains, through the choice of papers used!  :)

If you would like to create some fun memories using this collection, don't forget to visit The Scrapbook Store to purchase what you need!  Thanks for visiting..x

Stuck?! | Ready...

Hello Friends.  This is my last reveal for Stuck?! Sketches.  I have had a wonderful and very inspiring six months over there with Sara and the team.  The sketches are such a delight to work with and I have always found myself creating from a new perspective.  I love that.  *grin*

Here is the February 15th reveal sketch...

And my layout...

"Ready"

products used: cs - bazzill; pp - Stampin' Up, Bella BLVD, October Afternoon, Echo Park, Bo Bunny;  Alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - October Afternoon sew fun banners, Greatest View badges/flairs, kaisercraft mini blooms, staple, Manor House flowers, paperclip; tools - black pen (sharpie).

As per normal, I've changed it up a little!  LOL!  I've rotated the sketch (until it was upside-down) and then mirrored it.  I've still kept most of the elements but have added a larger journaling area directly to one of the main patterned paper blocks.

I also LOVE these gorgeous badges/flairs from Greatest View.  The delicate colours bounce off one another yet contrast in shape to the diamond background paper.  They also subtly replace the flower clusters from the sketch.

So are you ready to play? ... I hope you will now all go and visit Stuck?! Sketches to either look for inspiration or to just check out the amazing layouts created by the Creative Team.  *grin*  Either way, I hope you will play along.  Thanks for visiting..x

The Scrapbook Store | Trains...

Oh My!!  If you have little (or even big) boys who are crazy for outdoor activities, then I highly recommend the new Echo Park - Scoot collection!  This is exactly what I got in my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store!  And I am loving it!!

Last year, we visited the Qld Workshop Rail Museum.  It was pure heaven for my boys.  Even my daughter enjoyed herself!  :)  This paper collection has really allowed me to showcase the museum without the page becoming too theme-y.. IYKWIM!  *grin*

"All for the love of Trains"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Echo Park, Scoot; alpha - American Crafts thickers (grey), Kaisercraft tiny alphas; other - Echo Park: elements stickers; skewer, ScrapFX chipboard (train), black paint; tools - silhouette, foam tape, black pen (sharpie).

The little chipboard train from ScrapFX was painted black and mounted on a skewer with some banner flags.  It also helps connect the top photo with the rest of the cluster.  The title is an eclectic mix of alphas, much like the layering of patterned papers.

I've still got a few more LOs to come using these bright and energetic patterned papers!  If you would like to get your hands on some, please visit Suzanne's shop, The Scrapbook Store, to make a purchase..x

Thanks for visiting..x

Jillibean Soup | The Game we Play...

Hi Friends.  Here's another scrappy share from Jillibean Soup.  This layout was my only page on display at CHA 2013 in January and I was super excited about it!  LOL!!

"The Game We Play"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup (corrugated Alphas/alphabeans); other - Jillibean Soup sugar pick, pea pods, stickers, soup labels; Mister Huey's mist, black pen; tools - fiskars cloud punch, martha stewart pinking circle punch.

Ethan and I have played this game for many years now.  Ever since he could carry out a conversation.  :)  He's now seven and still loves to try and outplay me with these words.  Definitely a scrap worthy moment in our history.  *grin*  Thanks for visiting..x

Jillibean Soup | Love the Little Things...

Hello Everyone.  It's my birthday today and I wanted to share some love with you.  Starting with this little tag/card I made for Jillibean Soup.

products used: cs - kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: tag, twine, soup label; vellum, liquid pearl; tools - flower punch.

I wanted to create something heart shaped for this week, but not necessarily in the traditional sense.  So, I collected several sheets of red/pink Jillibean papers and started punching out small flowers.  Once I had the amount I needed, I started to form them into a heart shape.  Easy peasy.  *grin*

The flowers on their own however, still looked a little flat.  I added some liquid pearl as flower centers just for that extra dimension.  On top of the heart, I adhered a soup label sticker directly to some vellum and cut out a banner shape from each end. The soup label was then mounted onto foam tape.

I really love how versatile each of the Jillibean Soup patterned papers are!  I have used several collections on this little card, but I don't think you can really tell.  :)

........................................................................

Okay, so as it is my birthday, today I would also love to say thank you to all of my on-line friends who come to visit and leave me wonderful comments to savour.  I really appreciate every one's efforts to leave a kind word.  Not only does it continue to encourage me to create and post here on my blog, but I also gain valuable insight into you, the reader.  I love to visit your blogs.  I love to see your scrapbooking/papercrafting creativity, your scrap spaces and to read about your creative processes!  If I could, I'd spend ridiculous amounts of time on the computer pouring over heaps of scrappy blogs...Ha!  I love them... but that's not going to happen with a three year old in the back ground here!  LOL!!

So... Thank you.  To each and every one of you, who takes time from your busy schedule to leave a little bit of love for me...x

The Scrapbook Store | This moment..

Hello!  I'm just sharing my final layout created with my January DT kit sent from The Scrapbook Store.  I think I have mentioned before how much I love the fresh colours from the Pebbles Family Ties collection!

"This Moment"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Pebbles (Family Ties); other - Pebbles (family ties) chips, Pebbles phrase and accent stickers, Kaisercraft mini blooms, Greatest View flair/badge; tools - silouette portrait, heart punch, circle punch.

I found some older photos of Cameron that I had printed out at home.  The one on the left was slightly damaged but I still wanted to use the photo to tell my story. Solution... cover it with an embellishment! LOL!  Or in this case, my title work.

It seems this layout has created some interest over at TwoPeas and on Pinterest.  I've seen images of it all over the place and I'm only just blogging it now!  LOL! I love using my left over bits and pieces to create a page and do you want to know a secret? ..This layout came together in about 20 minutes!!  I wish I could do this more often!  haha.. Then maybe I could get more house work done! *grin*

Anyway...

If you would like to recreate this layout, head on over to The Scrapbook Store to get some Pebbles Inc patterned paper.  I've had a lot of fun with the collection in the past month..

Thanks for visiting..x

Jillibean Soup | Threestyle...

Hello, hello!  Things have been busy this week.  Lots of scrappy shares.  Hopefully I am back in the groove  of things for a while.  It's nice to have some "me" time again now that the kids have gone back to school!  LOL!!

Today I wanted to share a layout that was posted on Jillibean Soup last week.  Yep.. I am slowly catching up!  hee hee..

This one was created ages ago.  Sometime last year.. But with CHA in January this was one that I held back.  :)

"Threestyle"

products used: cs - kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup (Macho Nacho Soup); alpha - Jillibean Alphabeans; other - Jillibean Soup: beanstalks (twine), Soup Labels, diecuts (Pea Pods); skewer, October Afternoon mist; tools - typewriter.

This photo was one of my favourites taken on Cam's 3rd birthday.  His cheeky, know-it-all grin and pose are intricate parts of him being three.  I quickly put this layout together of a few of his quirky traits at this age.

Don't forget to visit Jillibean Soup and give the DT some love.  They really do an amazing job.  Thanks for visiting..x
