Jillibean Soup | Muddy Puddles...

Hi Everyone.  I have a quick post today to share with you this layout created for Jillibean Soup

"Muddy Puddles"

products list: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: clear stamps (large butterfly), Pea Pod Parts, Soup Labels, Wise Words; Greatest View sequins, OA mist; tools - machine stitching, black pen.

I have a gone through my stash and used quite a few left over strips of patterned paper.  They were simply arranged in fading colour and machine stitched straight onto the cardstock.  I wanted it to look a little messy as the photo shows my boy jumping in the mud!  *grin* And with that thought in mind, I also added the splashes of grey mist to the page...

From the above photo, you can see that I've mounted the photo onto foam tape to add dimension to my layout.  The wings on the butterfly have also been bent, just to add that extra depth as well.  The butterfly is a new Jillibean Soup clear stamp, available through Hampton Arts.

Now, don't forget to visit Jillibean Soup to see what some of the other DT members have created.  Thanks for visiting me here.  I really appreciate reading your thoughts..x

The Scrapbook Store | ...

Happy Monday Friends.  Today I am sharing another layout created from my The Scrapbook Store DT kit.  Lots of lovely Pink Paislee Cottage Farms goodness!

"adventure"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Pink Paislee Cottage Farms; alpha - BasicGrey; other - Pink Paislee: ephemera pack, Jillibean Soup twine, glimmermist, shimmerz, toothpick; tools - silhouette portrait.

This layout is an homage to the many family day trips we take together.  We love to explore our local area.  Especially the nearby National Parks.  I have included my journaling, hidden on the lined patterned paper.  And since we are still in the month of May (and Mother's Day!) I have found a rare photo that has me in it!  LOL!! Cam and I are actually playing in a beautiful, clear mountain stream, and let me tell you!!! It was freezing!  LOL!

The Pink Paislee paper ephemera pack is quite gorgeous with all of the bits and pieces!  I love that they are so versatile.  All those extra bits from my kit will be making their way into my PL spreads!  *grin*  If you would like to see more of this collection before it is all sold out, please visit The Scrapbook Store here.  Thanks for visiting..x

Jillibean Soup | Cards...

Hi Everyone!  I just wanted to pop in quickly and share these cards I created for Jillibean Soup. The first is a simple little card created and used for Mother's Day.  :)  I took the time to create an extra layer of texture with the diagonal machine stitching, but the diecuts and cardstock stickers are the real stars of the show.

products used: cs - Kaisercraft, Kraft; pp - Jillibean Soup (chilled cucumber soup + coconut lime soup); alpha - Jillibean Soup cardstock sticker alphas; other - Jillibean Soup die cuts, cardstock stickers.

My second card has been created from Kimber's May Card Sketch...

Instead of going straight to my Jillibean Soup circle elements, I thought I might like to try something a little left of field! *grin*  So I grabbed my heart punch and created a banner instead.  The sketch is still there.. although bits and pieces have been moved around! LOL!

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: beanstalks (pink twine), cardstock sticker banner bites; tools - heart punch, corner rounder.

That's it for today.  I hope you are having a wonderful day.  Thanks for visiting...x

The Scrapbook Store | You + Me...

Hello Friends!  I'm back today to share with you another layout I created for my Mother's Day tribute this month.  I was thrilled when I saw this gorgeous DT kit from The Scrapbook Store, made up of the beautiful Pink Paislee Cottage Farms collection.  And even though I LOVE the pink, I did feel daunted by the task ahead of me... These patterned papers were not necessarily what I would have immediately chosen for myself! *grin*  However, I am so glad I got to play with them.

"You + Me"

products used: cs - bazzill, Kaisercraft; pp - Pink Paislee; alpha - BasicGrey; other - Pink Paislee burlap flower, ephemera pack; Amy Tan clear stamps, Green Tara mini roses, Greatest View chalk board badge/flair & sequins, textured paste, mist, ink; tools - Jo Sonja paints, machine stitching, black pen, small circle punch, The Crafter's Workshop circle template.

This layout is a general reflection on how I feel about being a mother to these four children.  *grin*  I am so thankful for the opportunity because motherhood wasn't anything I initially aspired to.  They have taught me a lot over the years.

Something a little bit different for me.  And I think I fell in love with these stunning Burlap flowers!!  *swoon*  (you will see more of them on other upcoming projects!) So if you like the look of these patterned papers or even the gorgeous flowers, head on over to The Scrapbook Store and check out what they have in stock.  Be warned however, they are disappearing fast! Thanks for visiting..x

Life.Paper.Scrapbook | May Colour Challenge...

Hello Everyone.  It is release day for the new challenge over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook. and it is a stunning colour combo one!! Check it out..

My lovely friend Suzanne, from The Scrapbook Store is the sponsor for this challenge and she is offering a $20 gift voucher to use in store! Just think of all the latest goodies you could purchase!!! *grin*

For this challenge I decided to try something a little different to the usual layouts I create.  I was so inspired by last week's LPS Project Life focus that I felt I needed to play along.  Here  is what I created..

"Project Life - Week 16"

products used: page protectors - Becky Higgins; cs - bazzill; pp - Bella Blvd, American Crafts (Dear Lizzy), Kaisercraft, Echo Park, Bo Bunny, Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup, Scrapfx chipboard; other - Pretty Little Studio days tags & Hello My Name Is.., American Crafts Dear Lizzy die cuts, Jillibean Soup Soup Labels, staples, glitter, Greatest View badges/flairs & sequins, brads, Kaisercraft mini bloom, Echo Park cardstock stickers, Cosmo Cricket chipboard stickers; tools - Amy Tan clear stamp, Versamark ink, corner rounder, Silhouette Portrait, home printer.

I've picked up the lemon, lime and pink from the sample photo and ran with the idea!  LOL!  You might notice that there are no photos of my daughter in this spread and plenty of the boys.  That didn't stop me from adding pink from the colour chart!  *grin*  I figure with the ice-cream container and the small photo of me,  the pink could still be used.  ;)

Page 1.

Page 2.

Cameron features heavily this week because the others all went back to school.  He was so lonely without them!  And would sit and wait outside for the kids to come home on the bus.  No matter what I tried to do to keep him occupied, come 3 o'clock and he was out the door searching for the "big red bus".  :)

As for the details in my spread.. Check out these fabulous  new badges/flairs from Greatest View.  I've adhered them directly to the page protectors rather than the paper blocks.

And I have even added a little bit of glitter and sequins to the mix as well!  Kind of eclectic with plenty of subtle layers!  :)

I hope you will all join in with us over at LPS and link up your creation to the side bar.  Thanks for visiting..x

Bella Blvd | Celebrating Stephanie's Wedding...

Hi Everyone!  We have an exciting week starting over at Bella Blvd today as the DT are joining in with the celebrations and sharing with you, our personal wedding layouts and photos, to honour Stephanie's up-coming nuptials this week end!!

"On This Day"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd: Love and Marriage: Esther Fleming Floral, May Eighteenth, Vows; alphas - Bella Blvd: Love and Marriage Alpha+Bits Stickers; other - Bella Blvd: Wedding Day Miniatures, Just Write Journaling Stickers; Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Pickle Juice; & Crochet Hearts: Pickle Juice, mist; tools - machine stitching, date stamp, ink.

I have many wonderful memories and photos from my wedding day, fourteen years ago!  But sadly most of my photos are copyrighted by the fabulous photographer we had on the day.  I tried desperately to find some photos that friends or family had taken but it was truly slim pickings!  Nobody in my family picks up a camera except me! How heart breaking is that?! So I have had to think outside the box for this challenge.

I included a large photo (that I eventually found buried beneath a crazy amount of paperwork!!) and a lot of journaling.

My children have frequently asked my husband and I, questions about our wedding day and they love to hear the stories of what occurred.  Like most big events, we had our share of drama, but they have been over shadowed by the fun memories we have of our day.  I wanted to journal a few of these memories so that in years to come my children or grandchildren can really get a sense of these special moments.

You may have noticed that this layout is an odd size and deviation from my usual style.  *grin* Not only is it a rare double but an uneven double at that! LOL.  One side is my regular 8.5in x 11in...

... and the other is slightly larger at 11in x 11in.

I've fussy cut a lot of the flowers from the Esther Fleming Floral patterned paper and layered them in clusters on my journaling page.  I've added small splashes of mist to enhance the floral and confetti look.  It is a wedding layout after all!! *grin* And well.. I don't really need an excuse to use mist/paint but I really wanted to on this layout!

I hope you will join in with us over at Bella, to wish Stephanie an awesome day!  Thanks so much for taking the time to come and visit..x

Bella Blvd | Button Love..

Hi Everyone!  Today over at Bella Blvd we are sharing some fun ways to use buttons on our layouts.  I had a chance to contribute to this fun challenge but I also teamed up the gorgeous Bella Blvd Button Market buttons with plenty of designer tape!

"Homemade Easter Eggs"

Bella Blvd products used: Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Pickle Juice; All American: Borders & Cute Cuts; Sand & Surf: Beach Balls, Miniatures; Birthday Boy: Alpha+Bits Stickers; High Five Alpha Stickers: Gulf; Designer Tape: Yellow Chevron, Red Chevron, Blue Chevron, Pickle Juice Chevron, Orange Stripe, Polkadot Combo, Pickle Juice Stripe, Yellow Stripe; Button Market: Orange Stars, Outdoors, Wood Mix, Checkers, Tie Dye, Red Flowers; Cling Stamps: Sand & Surf; other - Kaisercraft cardstock, black pen (sharpie), twine.

I really do love how the different product collections all match perfectly with each other. Four photos, six different buttons and eight different strips of designer tape!  I was in scrapbooking heaven when I create this layout.  It all came together way too easily...

I also adore the fresh bright colours of the alpha stickers laid directly on top of the designer tape.  Those little fussy cut flowers were created using the new Bella Blvd Sand & Surf cling stamps.  A great product to work with and stamps very clear images.

I hope you have been inspired to break out your own personal button collection to create with sometime this week!  I always love a challenge and now I can cross this event off my to-scrap list!  LOL!  Did you notice the date in the journaling?  2011...!  I am so thankful (over and over again) that I am not a chronological scrapper!  *grin*  I would never get anything done if I were! And I know for sure that I'd never be up-to-date! Thanks for visiting..x
