Greatest View | Cafe Club...

Hello Friends.  Today I am sharing a layout that's up on the Greatest View blog.  It is featuring the most gorgeous Woodgrain Style badges/flair!  And plenty of Elle's Studio Serendipity from The Scrapbook Store.

"Café Club"

products used: pp - Elle's Studio Serendipity; alpha - American Crafts chipboard thickers; Greatest View: wood grain style badge, sequins; other - Elle's Studio: Lil' Snipets, cutouts; Manor House flower vine, Zva Creative bling, twine, kraft tag, Kaisercraft pearls, shimmerz mist; tools - black pen, hole punch.

I've also used the rest of the Manor House flower vine that I cut up to use here.  The Zva Creative bling layered beneath the vine adds to the beauty of the flower.  And considering I'm not really "into" creating with flowers...! LOL!  I must admit that I do love these ones from Manor House.  I've used the hot pink (The Scrapbook Store have now sold out of this colour).

The Greatest View Woodgrain Style badges can also be found at The Scrapbook Store.  I love how they work perfectly with the Elle's Studio Serendipity collection.

The story? Well..  My daughter's paternal grandparents have always taken her to coffee shops and cafes since before she could walk.  *grin*  It is their little tradition and way of spending quality time together.  I wanted to document  this story even though I am not a part of their café club.  :)

If you would like to learn more about how I put this layout together, please visit Greatest View here.  Thanks so much for taking the time to visit me..x

The Scrapbook Store | Always Be You...

Hi Everyone! I'm back today to share with you another layout using my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store

"Always Be You"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Elle's Studio Serendipity, American Crafts Amy Tan; other - Elle's Studio: cutouts, Lil' Snippets favourite things; staple, mist, ink; tools - Fiskars small circle punch, Martha Stewart 1" circle punch, small circle punch, Amy Tangerine date stamp, black pen.

I really love these patterned papers from the Elle's Studio Serendipity collection.  So much so that even though it doesn't look like there are many papers here, I think I have used a little bit of every piece of patterned paper sent to me! A great way to use up those extra scraps that "I" just can't part with.  *grin*

Since my beautiful boy was picking flowers for me, I decided I wanted to use up my scraps in circle form.  A repetition of the flower he's holding in the photo.  It was as simple as choosing three different circle punches and going to work.

And you might notice that I have still got my favourite colour combination happening here.  Pink, teal, gray and yellow. yes... well, I might grow out of it soon.  *grin*... Thanks for visiting..x

The Scrapbook Store | Play More...

Hi Everyone!  I hope your weekend has been creative so far.  I have had a little time to play and am so far holding out with hope for big plans to scrap tomorrow!  *grin*  In the meantime.. I have a layout to share created for The Scrapbook Store.

"Play More"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Elle's Studio: Serendipity; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Greatest View badges/flair; Ruby Rock-it cardstock stickers, white paint; tools - Dear Lizzy date stamp, The Crafter's Workshop stencil, black pen.

My July DT Kit supplied me with the gorgeous Elle's Studio: Serendipity collection.  It has the most delightful, soft and feminine colours but I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could create a boyish page.  I have focused more on the teal, grey and yellow colour combinations from the collection and teamed them up with Greatest View badges.

I have used a TCW chevron arrows template with white paint sponged directly onto the cardstock.  It is quite hard to see in these photos but if you squint, I'm sure you will see them!  *grin*  I've finished off the edges of my layout with some yellow chevron washi tape from my stash.  If you would like to get your hands on some or all of these products, head on over to The Scrapbook Store before they sell out.  Thanks for visiting..x

The Scrapbook Store | the ART of discipline...

Hello Friends.  If you have been following my blog for some time now, you will know that my daughter has been studying dance since she was six years old.  This year marks her seventh year and she continues to have the amazing passion of spinning and twirling as if she were still six.  But she hit a hard roadblock at the beginning of the year.

Her much loved teacher, also named Leanne, needed to focus on family and returned to the United States.  We miss her dreadfully because not only was she an incredibly talented teacher, she became and still is a beautiful family friend.

The dance studio has been bought by another lovely teacher and Tahlia continues to dance and study with her new friend.. formerly a dance student of Ms Leanne's.  *grin*  Which brings me to my layout and the hash tag of starting over_2013.

"the ART of discipline"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Elle's Studio: Serendipity; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Elle's Studio: Lil' Snippets labels, Serendipity cutouts ; Manor House flowersGreen Tara miniblooms; Greatest View badges/flair: In Style, School Rocks!, triple pearl pin, sequins, twine, mist, vellum; tools - border punch, typewriter.

My girl has worked so hard in perfecting her barre work.  She is improving in strength and flexibility every day.  I got to sneak into class one day and managed to take some photos.  This layout has been created with my July DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  It is full of gorgeous Elle's Studio Serendipity.  I've just added the Greatest View badges/flair which are now also available from The Scrapbook Store.

The larger flowers are from Manor House.  The dark pink one has been cut down to size from one of the beautiful flower vines.  Trust me.  That was a hard choice to actually make that cut!  *grin* .

On a side note:  Tahlia now goes to dance class three times a week.  Twice a week with the dance studio, two hours each session and now every Thursday afternoon for three hours with her school performance team.  Last year she auditioned for and was successful in making the High School Dance Extension team - a maximum of thirty students.  Within this team, she recently auditioned for and again was successful in making the Junior Dance Troup (Eisteddfod performance team - open audition).  Again a team of thirty girls from grade 8 through to grade 10.  She was one of five grade 8 students.  Over 200 girls applied for the team.  I am so very proud of her and her achievements.  The goals she is setting and then marking off her list goes to prove her discipline in a tough field.

Hampton Art | Watercolour flower tutorial...

Hi Everyone!  Last week when I shared a link to my Hampton Art stamping tutorial, I also linked you up to my watercolour flower tute as well.  :)  But I didn't share it here.

I just love the watercolour trend at the moment.  It's so alluring and I just wanted to dabble in it.  However, I thought that I just didn't have any watercolour supplies on hand (and I'm not counting the kids' $1 paint in a tray!  LOL!!  Although....) *grin*.  But then I remembered that I actually did have something I could try.  Something I bought a set of, just after high school and never touched because I didn't know where to start.. (umm.. yeah.  I am a bit of a hoarder!)

Enter: my Faber-Castell Watercolour Pencils!  Yay!!

They were still in good condition thanks to the original tin box they came in.  So I tested them out!

"Hello Sunshine!"

If you would like to see my step by step, please visit the Hampton Art blog here.  I had a lot of fun creating these flowers and they are so simple!  I hope you enjoy.

I think this is one of my faves from Snapshots!

Bella Blvd | Awesome...

Hello Friends.  I am back today to share with you my "mistake" layout!  LOL *grin*  This was a layout I created for last month's Bella Blvd colour challenge.  My mistake was looking at the mood board via my iPhone! yep.  you guessed it.  wrong colours... sigh!

"Awesome!"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd; alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: designer tapes; brads, toothpicks; tools - circle punch.

When I went to upload my layout on my desktop and send it to Laura, well.. wouldn't you know it.  It looked nothing like the mood board/colour challenge!  LOL!

On the up side however, I was ready with a layout for July.  *grin*..

I had these sweet photos of my boy sitting on my desk. And Cameron has the cutest saying at the moment.  All done in a sing-song voice.  Check out the story here.  So.. of course I just had to document it.

I've continued with the Autumnal theme (or so I thought at the time) with a trail of falling flowers.  There's quite a mix of Bella Blvd patterned paper collections here too.  Don't you just love the way each collection can be used with the other?  :)  Thanks for visiting..x
