Bella Blvd | What's New Wednesday...

Hello Friends.  I am just popping in here today to share with you my layout created for Bella Blvd and the What's New Wednesday feature.

"Today's Top Ten List"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd Snapshots: My Point Of View, Paper Pieces; Daily Chevies: Chevy Pickle Juice, Chevy Carrot; Engaged at Last: Bachelor Party; alpha - Bella Blvd: ciao chip: Sienna Alpha-Pony; Sophisticates: Black-White High Five Alphabets; other - Bella Blvd: Making The Team: Miniatures; Feathers: White, Oreo; Crochet Hearts: scallop, gulf; paint, staples tools - black pen.

I've gone ahead and grab these gorgeous white & black (oreo) feathers and layered them with latest Bella Blvd collections... Snapshots & Daily Chevies!  And it was these feathers that inspired my story for the layout.

You see.. my youngest child likes to wake up when the birds do.  Around here that can be anytime from 4.30am - 5am!!!! Yikes!!!  And yes I have tried all sorts of methods to keep him from waking at that time in the morning but it seems his body clock has set the alarm.  *sheesh!*

He is also quite keen to start the day with a list of things he.needs.to.do.  *grin*  Each night before he goes to sleep he will rattle off a number of things he wants to accomplish the next day.  Lately it is all about breakfast and what he wants in his fruit salad.

I am really looking forward to the Summer holidays starting here soon, so the other kids aren't as disturbed with their sleep as much as what they are dealing with now.  Reasoning with grumpy children in the morning isn't pretty!  Especially when they are getting ready for school!  sigh...

Thanks for visiting today...x  zzzzz

Jillibean Soup | Best Day Ever...

Hello Friends!  Today I wanted to share my layout created for Jillibean Soup.  I was totally inspired by our Christmas being celebrated in Summer and wanted to convert it onto a page.  The stitching on the stars and the beach theme really make me happy! *grin*  It is a long way from the traditional red and green theme of Christmas but who's to say we can't change it up every now and then!  :)

 "best.day.ever"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup (Cold Avocado Soup); other - Jillibean Soup: wooden button, stampable frames, flash cards, soup labels, wise words; mist; tools - typewriter, silhouette portrait.

Stars are quite universal at Christmas time, don't you think? Stitching over them like this reminds me of those banner/strings that are popular to wrap around gifts.  I've seen quite a bit of fancy gift wrapping over on Pinterest! LOL! Anyway...  I would probably label this type of gift wrapping under "the little things, my little people wouldn't appreciate!" *grin*  After all, at the moment they are only interested in what is on the inside of the package!

So, what's inspiring you these days?  Blogs? Pinterest? Christmas? Thanks so much for visiting...x

Bella Blvd | Pinterest Inspiration..

Hello Friends.  I am doing a little scrapbook house keeping today and catching up with some Bella Blvd.

This month I was challenged to use an image of leaves, as a source of Pinspiration for my layout.

I fell in love with the ombre colours and of course had to use leaves on my page as well.  I mixed it up with a selection Bella collections, all of which work and coordinate so well together...

 "Happy Camper"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd; alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: chipboard, stickers; studio calico mist; tools - Fancy That Dies (leaves), typewriter.

One of my boys' favourite activities when camping, is to run through piles of leaves as they go crashing through the bush.  This always worries me though, because of the high number of deadly snakes and spiders (wherever we go camping) that could be lurking beneath the leaf litter!  My only consolation is that these boys they make so.much.noise. that any creature, deadly or otherwise, will disappear well in advance of my boys getting near them!  Fingers crossed anyway!

If you would like to see how some of the other DT members were inspired by this same image, please visit Bella Blvd here.  Thanks so much for visiting ..x

Hello Everyone.  I've had a huge week helping and sharing with the Heidi Swapp Make Pretty Stuff Down Under tour | Brisbane.  It was wonderful getting to know Heidi but one of the best parts was working together with all of the Greatest View girls! We had such a great time and so many belly laughs!!!

Today however, I am moving on from the euphoria of the long weekend to share something equally fun!  Life.Paper.Scrapbook's latest colour challenge has been released.  *grin*

And here is my example...

"Tonka Love"

Bella Blvd + Kerri Bradford Team Up | Christmas Mini Album...

Hi Friends!  I'm back again with my final project created for the Bella Blvd + Kerri Bradford Team Up challenge.  This little (or rather large) mini album was a labour of love for me.  I don't often get the chance to create minis but I definitely couldn't go past creating this Christmas countdown booklet for my youngest son.

The idea is simply a flip-style countdown booklet to help my four year old keep track of the days leading up to Christmas.  I have used the appropriately named Christmas Countdown patterned papers by Bella Blvd to bring it all together.

The front and back covers have been made using the left over packaging from the crochet hearts.  I've just traced around the cardboard, including the hole, onto the patterned paper.  It gives me a sturdier base to support the rest of my album.

The Kerri Bradford cut files allowed me to play with the idea of creating windows.  Days 23 and 22 are essentially the same cut file except, with "Day 22" I recut the same image onto my back ground patterned paper.  The next step was to layer the red "Day 22" ( a second cut) directly over the first cut.

Day 20 was simple.  *grin*  I love the idea of using chipboard to spell the date.

Some of the words were cut at a large size and a small circle welded to a part of the file. This allowed me to punch a hole and create a hanging element from the cut file for my mini.

Most of the pages have been cut at different sizes and I have even used some of the paper pieces, such as Day 15.  The feathers have been added between the layers for extra texture. The crochet hearts, tabs and chipboard were also add for the textural element of the album.

On the last page, I have created a little surprise. Using three white Crochet Hearts, I have built a little snowman. I have hand stitched the eyes and mouth and used an orange exclamation mark sticker from the Yellow High Five Alphabets. The arms are also sticker letters from Making The Team Alpha+Bits. And of course the buttons were added to finish and compliment the Kerri Bradford number cut file.

Now if you have lasted this long and scrolled to the bottom of this post, please don't forget the giveaway on the Bella Blog is still open.
