Scraptastic Club | Pinterest Inspiration...
Hi Everyone!!! Today over at the Scraptastic Club blog, I am sharing a layout inspired by this gorgeous image.
This string of light bulbs got me thinking of all those cliché phrases... and everyone of those phrases reminded me of my oldest son. *grin*
"I Love His Creative Mind"
products used: cs - Kaisercraft; kit - Scraptastic Club Kit.
I chose to work with this month's gorgeous Daylight Kit. The coordinating stamp sets just so happened to have a light bulb included!! yay!!
I stamped the images onto white cardstock. When I did this, I masked off certain areas of the stamp so I could use different coloured inks. With the "yellow" light bulb, I also used gold embossing powder.
Mounting the fussy cut images just adds to the layering effect I was looking for.
This boy can drive me crazy!! LOL! His quick wit can either frustrate me to tears or bring me into fits of laughter. Either way, I adore him. And I'm pretty sure his teacher's at school appreciate his sense of humour... although... some days I'm not sure why! *grin* Until I get a note home that doesn't say "Love his humour" I don't think I'll stress overly much about that fine line he dances on..

Jillibean Soup | My Whole Heart...
Hi Everyone! Today I want to share with you a layout challenge we were given as designers over at Jillibean Soup. Jill challenged us to use the silhouette files (especially created to match up with the awesome Jillibean Soup product) or use the mini/large place mats on a layout. What a fun challenge!!
I chose to work with the mini placemats! They are super cute. This is what I came up with.
products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: wood sprinkles, mini placemat, woodgrain bag (stampables), wooden flag, stickers; tools - typewriter, machine stitching.
I have placed a wood grain, mini bag from the stampables collection, behind the placemat. Inside the bag I have hidden my journaling. To allow it to sit neatly behind the place mat, I've simply trimmed the top edge of the bag.
The wood sprinkles were my next indulgence on this layout! You may have seen this sneak from a few weeks ago. *grin*
I added a little 'orange-coloured' detail in the bottom corner and layered it with a wood flag.
Finally I added my title using both the navy beanboards and the white alphabeans. I must admit, having the grid patterned paper made my job of lining up the letters, much, much easier! LOL!
Don't forget to head on over to the Jillibean Soup blog and check out what the other DT members created! And while you are there, check and see if you are a winner of the NSD Jillibean Soup blog hop! Congratulations to Kaitlynne Roil, who was randomly selected from the many entries on my blog post. She has won the four packets of clear stamps. Thanks to everyone who played along..x

Bella Blvd | Mid Season Collections...
Hello Friends! I want to share with you today one of the gorgeous new collections for Bella Blvd. Scattered Sprinkles!! I had to start creating with my box of goodies, merely hours after I took delivery of it! I truly enjoy working with the bright and beautiful designs of Bella Blvd and I couldn't help myself! *grin*
Here is a little look at the collection... For more details go >>>here<<<.
And this is what I created with my first time of delving into the box..
"Sassy"
products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd (Scattered Sprinkles); alpha - Bella Blvd (Scattered Sprinkles); other - Bella Blvd: Candid Cards (Lucky Starz); embroidery thread; tools - typewriter.
I love this collection (both front sides and back) with it's funky versatility! I think it is perfect for teen layouts, with my background pp (McIntosh Sprinkles) adding the feel of graffiti to my page. If you would like to see more of the new Mid Season collections from Bella Blvd, make sure you visit the blog this week. There will be plenty of inspiration coming to you via the DT.
Thanks so much for visiting here today...x

Bella Blvd | What's New Wednesday...
Hello Friends! Ummm. Please ignore the above pic! LOL! Happy Friday! But I do have a Bella Blvd layout to share and it was inspired by my first ever, Mother's Day gift. My beautiful daughter.
"My Gift"
products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd: Molly, Family Forever; alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: crochet hearts, blossoms, ciao chipboard, candid cards; embroidery thread; tools - typewriter, machine stitching.
My daughter was born one week before Mother's Day and she was indeed my very first Mother's Day gift. I wanted to document this simple fact (*ahem, 14 years later) even though I am well aware of when she celebrates her special day! *grin*
To create the hand stitched heart, I simply traced around the large heart-shape die cut from the Molly Paper Pieces in pencil, pierced even holes along the line and then used yellow embroidery floss. The hand stitching is then highlighted with fussy cut flowers from Sparkle & Shine.
I finished off my layout with three of the 2" squares found in the Molly Candid Cards pack. They each have a white back ground to soften the busy Peace patterned paper and have been placed in a visual triangle to help draw the eye across the page.
I hope all the Mothers "out there" have a gorgeous day on Sunday. Especially if you are surrounded by your loved ones! I can't wait to see what special plans my children have arranged for me this year! Thanks for visiting...x

Jillibean Soup & PageMaps..
How lucky am I? I've just had the opportunity to play along with Becky Fleck's PageMaps sketches, two months in a row as a guest designer! In April, it was for Bella Blvd (see blog post here) and now in May, I get to play along with the talented girls from Jillibean Soup! I sometimes still have to pinch myself at the wonderful opportunities that have come my way. And I am extremely humbled that people still like to look at what I love creating. Thank you friends...x
Becky kindly provided this sketch for me to work from.
And this is what I created.. It's pretty close to the sketch but as you can see, I've added my own variation in some places!
"Just Write"
products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup beanboards; other - JBS: wood sprinkles, pea pod parts, soup labels; other - typewriter.
I've done a little play on words with my title work. *grin* My youngest is extremely interested in his letters/alphabet/writing at the moment and he is copying and learning something new each day.
I really wanted to have a permanent copy of his handwriting at this learning stage, as most of the time he just grabs sheets of printer paper and goes to town with his letter work! Adding it to a scrapbook layout just ensures I will have a future reminder of these little details.
I got him to write his name with a pencil, directly onto some white cardstock. I then carefully went over his handwriting with an acid-free permanent pen/marker. I've also used this cardstock, trimmed, to replace the second photo from the sketch.
To finish off my layout, I've added the gorgeous wood sprinkles (life) in place of the button banner and the large die-cut camera (peapod parts) instead of the circle element.
I hope you will come along and find the time to play with this sketch. Maybe you can also capture some handwriting detail of your own!! Thanks for visiting today...x

Bella Blvd & National Scrapbooking Day!
Hello Friends!!!! How excited are you for National Scrapbooking Day? Yay!! Although I truly think the name of the day should be changed to Inter-National Scrapbook Day! Don't you think? I absolutely love seeing inspiration from all over the world and nobody does it better than scrapbookers and crafters! *grin*
Today Bella Blvd has organised a challenge for the entire design team to participate in. And once again the challenge is for us to share a little about ourselves with you.
This challenge was an extremely difficult one, not because I don't want to share with you, but because I am not a fan of being in front of the camera. I agonised about the challenge because I didn't have any new photos of myself and no one else in my family willingly likes to pick up the camera and snap away like I do. Can you relate?
So, after my lovely husband calmed me down (yes I was stressing about having my photo taken) I took control and stared at myself in the bathroom mirror. I figured if I couldn't get a decent shot nobody has to see them. The joys of having a digital camera! And I could always get creative with a photo-less layout! Lucky for me, I decided I had three photos I could work with. :)
This was the photo I was going to use on my layout.
But then I changed my profile picture on Facebook with one of the other photos. Some thing that was long overdue, as the last one was over two years old! Again, can you relate? LOL! Anyway, what happened next was a true eye-opener. The amazing amount of support I received for a photo that had no word content just blew me away. I wasn't expecting comments and I certainly wasn't expecting "likes".
The direction of my Bella Blvd layout just took a new turn, because this is what I wanted to document. The lesson learnt. I need to be kinder to me.
"Profile Update"
products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd (Family Forever); alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: candid cards, crochet hearts, stickers; Heidi Swapp colorshine; tools - machine stitching, typewriter.
I hope you will hop along with us today and as you get to know us a little better, be on the look out for some gorgeous giveaways on the Bella Blvd blog!!! Good luck and thanks for visiting...x
