Jillibean Soup | Cards...

Hello Everyone! Thanks for joining me here this week and for letting me indulge in my Jillibean Soup love! Today I am sharing some clean and simple cards that have all appeared on the Jillibean Soup blog lately.

This first card was created using one of my fave collections. Cold Avocado Soup! I've teamed it up with a doily stamp (Jillibean Soup - stamp & stencil) a wood sprinkle and some yummy grey twine!

The next selection of cards have all been created with Birthday Bisque.  It is bright and fun and perfect for either a boy or girl birthday recipient.  As you can see, we've attended a few girly birthdays of late!

"Celebrate"

"Hats off to the BDay Girl"

"Birthday Girl"

Thanks again for visiting with me this week and thank you to everyone who left a comment...x

Jillibean Soup | Life is Good...

Hello Friends! Thanks for staying with me this week as I share some of my Jillibean Soup layouts from the past few months.  The layout I am sharing today was created from the Spicy Social Soup collection.

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup (Spicy Social Soup); other - Jillibean Soup: pea pod parts, soup labels, clear stamps; tools - typewriter, ink.

Some of my favourite products from Jillibean Soup are the Pea Pod Parts.  Otherwise known as die-cuts! The ones from the Spicy Social Soup collections are especially fun and can be applied to so many different situations!

Here I've used them to enhance the story between my teen & tween! I have built them up in layers both on and around my photo.  I've even included some soup labels (stickers) and fussy cut elements from the patterned papers.

Another fave product that I've used on my page are the clear stamps.

The hashtag stamps will win me over every. single. time!

Thanks again for visiting me here today. Please come back tomorrow for my final Jillibean Soup Lovefest instalment - cards!

Jillibean Soup | 12...

Have you ever noticed that every now and then Jillibean Soup offer some awesome free cutfiles?? This layout was created with our designer challenge in mind. And this fun freebie resulted in some stunning creations over at the Jillibean Soup blog.

I decided to use the negative space from the cutfile to share the story of my son's twelfth birthday.

"12"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup (Cold Avocado Soup); alphas - Jillibean Soup Alphabeans (mushroom gray); other - Jillibean Soup: wood veneer, soup labels, coordinating label stickers; tools - date stamp, typewriter.

While I had this file open in my silhouette program, I dragged some of the pie pieces out from the circle shape. I wanted to exaggerate the slices to resemble pieces of cake.

I backed each negative shape with a coordinating patterned paper and layered my photo on top. My journaling was typed directly onto the back ground cardstock and the wood veneers were inked before being attached to my page.

Thanks again for joining me here today. I hope you will come back tomorrow to see some more Jillibean Soup love!!

Jillibean Soup | Family...

Hello Friends!  This week I am having a little Jillibean Soup Lovefest! *grin* I have a few layouts to share that have somehow slipped under the radar!  Eeeek!  SO I have decided that I will take it upon myself to correct this error over the next few days.

First up I want to share with you these fabulous wire words!

I use them regularly and in fact, I've almost gone through all of the ones I have in my stash! They are quite delicate, light weight and I love to attach them directly to my layouts using a strategically placed cross stitch or two.

"Family"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup (Birthday Bisque); other - Jillibean Soup: wire words, mini placemat, wood sprinkles, enamel stars, wooden nickles, soup labels, kraft tape; embroidery thread; tools - typewriter.

I also love using them in lieu of alpha titles.

Thanks for visiting me here today!  I hope you will re-join me tomorrow for some more Jillibean Soup love...x

Jillibean Soup | Happy..

Hey Everyone!  Have you seen the gorgeous new Happy Hues from Jillibean Soup?  I am loving the new paint products that are now available.  The colours... OMGosh!  *swoon*

This month, a challenge was issued to the Jillibean Soup DT to play with these gorgeous paints.  I chose subtle and just had to add a few paint splatters to my layout.

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup (Summer Red Raspberry Soup); alpha - Jillibean Soup Beanboards (Yellow Yam); other - Jillibean Soup: die cuts, wood sprinkles, mini placemat, happy hues; tools - machine stitching, typewriter.

Head on over to the Jillibean Soup blog and check out what some of the other DT members created as part of the challenge.  Thanks for visiting...x

JOT Magazine | May Moodboard...

Hello Everyone! Have you noticed the fabulous May Moodboard up on the Jot Magazine blog yet? You should really check it out!

It even comes with a free digital stamp created by the amazing Jodie York! And the colours... swoon! Let's just say I fell in love! *grin*

"Be Positive"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella Blvd; cut file - Jodie York Brush Script; other - Scraptastic Club: Darlene Kit Cut Aparts, Simple Stories: I Am chipboard, Bella Blvd: Enamel doodads, Gelatos: blue, paint, Heidi Swapp: colorshine; tools - Silhouette Portrait, typewriter.

I used the digital stamp to create a cut file for my silhouette.  I loved that I could then layer the pieces both under and on top of my photo.

For the background, I actually played with my Gelatos and a new (to me) technique I learnt while at E2C! My story however, focuses on the message of being positive. I know first hand how hard it is to break the cycle of negativity. It really isn't a legacy I want to leave my kids.

So, what have you got to be positive about? Don't forget to share your LOs in the linky over at Jot.  Thanks for visiting..x

Jillibean Soup | Card

Hello Friends! Just a quick share today. Up on the Jillbean Soup blog this week I've been playing with the new Summer Red Raspberry collection!  I LOVE it!! Here is one of the projects I can share...

"Hello" card.

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: wire words, die-cuts, wood veneers, cork arrow, happy hues; tools - machine stitching.

I even broke into my new stash of Happy Hues (Jillibean Soup's new paint line) and added a few splatters!  Watered down of course, but it still perfectly coordinates with this paper collection!

Scraptastic Club | Darlene

Hi Everyone! I'm here today and to share one of my last layouts created for Scraptastic Club, using the gorgeous "Darlene" kit. I just love how frivolously girly it is and I decided to take full advantage of the fact by creating a layout just for me!

Recently, I had an amazing opportunity to travel and teach at a scrapbooking retreat. My very first one (both teaching and going to a retreat!). So I knew I wanted to capture the special moments with a kit that seems dedicated to celebrating oneself. I met so many talented ladies and of course we had to have selfies!!

To solve the issue of too many photos and not enough space on my 8.5x11 layout, I resorted to using a collage app on my phone. Once I collected nine of my favourite photos, I positioned them to create a single image.   note: I have used Diptic on my iPhone.

To offset the multiple images, I added a cluster of embellishments both in various heights and textures.

This cluster was also ideal for placing my hidden journaling beneath. I trimmed a 3x4" journaling card from the Scraptastic Club Journaling Cards "Darlene Add-on" patterned paper, and slipped it directly beneath the gold foil patterned paper.

The touches of gold foil elements in the "Darlene" kit also inspired me to want to use all of them! But I knew I had to limit the amount so as not to create a huge mess on my page.  The easiest thing for me to achieve the look I wanted was to use layers and negative spaces.  The butterfly shape was cut from my silhouette, but if you don't have an electronic cutting machine, a manual die cutter will create the same effect. Where the butterfly shape has been removed, I've layered the gold polkadot foil below it.

Also note that I repeated the negative space idea with by using both the ampersand "&" and the miniature heart above the photo. Repeating elements on a page helps to create continuity.

Thanks so much for joining me today.  I have had an amazing 12 months of creativity with Scraptastic's fabulous kit club.  I will still add my projects to the gallery but for now I am stepping down from the design team. Thanks goes to all the wonderful team members who have supported me with this hard decision..x

Page Maps & Bella Blvd | Hello Smile...

This month, Bella Blvd is sponsoring the challenge over at Becky Fleck's PageMaps.  The Bella Blvd design team had the awesome opportunity to play along. This is the sketch Becky asked me to create with..

I love the vertical lines and the added interest of enamel dots! So.. This is the layout I ended up creating.

"Hello Smile"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella Blvd (Color Chaos); other - Bella Blvd: enamel dots, stickers; paint; tools - machine stitching, typewriter.

I didn't want to go too crazy with the colour on this page, instead staying true to the hues found in the photo. The simplicity of the overall layout is what appeals to me the most.  And of course there's the story too. That look of pure tranquillity on my sons face, was soon abolished when his brothers decided they needed to jump on top of him in the pool!

sigh... boys.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope many of you got a chance to create last week end in celebration of (inter)National Scrapbooking Day!

Bella Blvd | Watermelon...

Hey there gorgeous people!  I just want to apologise for my absence of late.  It has been quite crazy in these parts recently and well, hopefully I am starting to get back on track with a few scrappy shares!

Today I want to start with a fun, Summery layout that is up on the Bella Blvd blog today.  We are starting to feel the effects of Winter here but not enough so we need to start wearing layers of clothing. In fact, with the freaky weather we're experiencing at the moment, it really does still feel like Summer.  Anyway... I digress...

"Watermelon"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella Blvd (Color Chaos, Lucky Starz); Invisibles - Bella Blvd (Campout); alpha - Bella Blvd (All American); other - Bella Blvd: chipboard pieces, enamel dots, stickers; paint; tools - typewriter, machine stitching.

This week I was challenge to create a layout using the delightful Color Chaos collection and team it up with either Invisibles or Clear Cuts!

I had such a fun time putting this page together.  I simply layered clusters of patterned paper in a geometric formation (three - one for each of my boys) and used the Color Chaos collection to represent the watermelon! See the Bella Blvd blog here for my meaning. *grin*

I also chose an Invisible sheet from the Campout collection, which was hand cut to a similar size to the patterned paper, and then machine stitched to the background cardstock.  The chipboard watermelon, perfect for this story, comes from the Bella Blvd | All American collection.

Thanks for visiting me here today. I hope you will get the chance to check out the other amazing projects from DT members Christin & Corri over at Bella...x
