Ok...It's not entirely what you think! But there are elements to that thought. We do have a bit of a rush around in the morning. Trying to get the kids out of bed when it's really chilly is a task in itself (& yes I know Lorraine, you will think our cool winter mornings are comparable to a heat wave! Lol). But I can see where they are coming from. I like snuggling under the blankets too! I then spend an hour trying to get them to eat brekky, get dressed, make their beds, brush teeth... you get the picture.
But the race I'm really referring to, is where Liam has it in his head that he NEEDS to be first at the bus stop. Tahlia and Liam have only recently joined the "travel by bus" brigade of kids in our street. And I guess the novelty hasn't worn off. And probably not going to for some time.
The bus stop is only about a 500m walk. These guys like to run while I shout out to them, not to. And heaven help me if Amber and Haydn (our next door neighbours) drive past, while we are walking. So, on the days that we arrive at the bus stop first...and it seems to be a regular thing...Liam likes to make sure he gets on the bus first.
And so it is a race.
Oh, that story put a smile on my face... oh to be a kid again!!! Things were so much simpler weren't they...
ReplyDeleteForgot to answer the question about the 6 x 12 layouts too. I was wondering the same thing and the idea you had about sewing down the middle is a great one!! So.. unless I find out otherwise, I'm going with that!!
Have a great week! xx
Oh yes, I remember those 'chilly' mornings...NOT! Do you remember our trip to Edinburgh, Leanne?!
ReplyDeleteIt's good that there's a bus to school now, isn't it? I'm sure that you're appreciating the extra time, that you used to spend making the school runs - and the children are obviously enjoying it too!
Love L. xx
