Phew!...

What a week! Can I just say, right here, right now.... I really don't think this week could be any more eventful.... (well, there is at least one more day left in this week, so I had better "speak" softly!)

Saturday, July 3: Mark and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We celebrated by spending the day cleaning the beach from the car! hee hee...Yes, it took quite a while to return it to its proper place!! LOL...

Sunday, July 4: We made a day of it and travelled by train into the city, (with our camping family), to visit the Museum, Science Center, South Bank and take a ride on the ferry.

It was a fantastic day except for when Ethan stepped out of an elevator without us, and became lost in a very large crowd. The doors of the elevator had closed behind him while we were still in it. It was so ridiculously busy, that he just stepped out with a group of people in the crush. The doors closed and I couldn't get to him! I was in a total panic. I think I will mark it off as one of the most scariest moments in my life - to date.

Monday, July 5: On this day, we cleaned the beach off the camper trailer (another big job) and prepared for a birthday...

Tuesday, July 6: Cameron celebrated his 1st birthday!! He had a wonderful day, enjoying many, many treats!! :D

Wednesday, July 7: Tahlia trips over one of the birthday balloons, lying on the floor from the previous evening and hurts her wrist. Mark takes her to the hospital for x-rays and doctor's opinion.

There is no fracture detected but her wrist and thumb are placed in a back slab (a half cast and a bandage) to immobilise it, as a crack can develop up to 2 weeks later. A trip is organized to go to the plaster clinic (1hour away) for the following day. Miss T is secretly thrilled at the idea of having a cast and is planning what colour she would like.

Thursday, July 8: Dropped the older two boys off at Grandma's and we take Tahlia to the plaster/fracture clinic. After a long-ish wait, the doctor looks at her x-ray and sees a definite fracture. The doctor suggests leaving the back slab on, instead of applying a lighter fiberglass cast, as Tahlia will need further x-rays in a week's time. This saves having one put on then having it removed for the x-rays next week and then having it put back on again. We are sent to the main office to re-make an appointment for next week and told there are none available! Still waiting on a phone call from the hospital......

She is okay, although it is now dawning on her, how much of a hindrance this cast will be. Especially since she is right-handed ...(guess which hand she put out to break her fall?..)!

Friday, July 9: Having been very pre-occupied with family matters, I have neglected to watch/read/hear any local news. Today we find out that there is a gun man on the loose in our area. He is armed, dangerous and several streets have already been in lock down.

On top of all this! I have tried to squirrel in my first post for Kaisercraft (OMGosh!! You should see the boxes that have arrived on my doorstep!) and totally re-organize myself to be more efficient for when we have weeks like this! hee hee...

As a side note: I am not complaining but rather documenting a week in our lives! A crazy week however, which I'm sure will take a while to top!!

Thanks for visiting the drama that is our life! LOL!!

  1. O my goodness, I'll say what a week you have had when your story is read all in one hit,it is hard to believe it all happened. I haven't heard that the man with the gun has been caught yet, but has been on the news for the past two nights. love the pics of the kids. I felt for you when Ethan was lost and know how you would have felt. Hope next week is a big improvement.
    Love Mum
