We have so far been very fortunate as to not have the devastation of flood waters invading our home. I couldn't imagine what my friends and family must be coping with at the moment. Most of Central and South East Queensland is on flood alert. Even a cyclone crossed the coast close to where my parents live, on Christmas day. They live inland from Townsville but the rains have still swamped the roads, bridges and low lying grounds.
Fortunately again, my parents are with me and my family at the moment. They travelled south with their caravan to spend Christmas with us before the floodgates were open. They however, must endure more time snuggling, playing with and nurturing their grandkids, as roads are cut off everywhere! LOL!! I don't know how they are going to cope!!
Secretly though, my Dad is going stir-crazy with all the rain. And my voice may be a little hoarse from repeatedly asking the kids to stop climbing the walls, furniture, window sills... (you get the picture)!!! We've a little bit of cabin fever at the moment.
Yesterday the sun came out for just a little bit. Unfortunately it hasn't been out for long enough yet. Muddy feet is a steady accessory here.
But today.... Today we gloried in the sunshine! And we made the most of it before the rain returns in full force (supposedly) tomorrow.
Ironically, we went to another large body of water! LOL!!
So, here's hoping you all have a wonderful and exciting new year. All the best for the future and I'll *see* you on the other side! :D
Happy New Year!!!!
