Create + Share...

Today I want to share with you a layout created for The Boxx.  I am posting a series of tips and easy to use ideas to help launch you into using more journaling on layouts....January's tip is about incorporating the title as part of the journaling process.

I find that the "long" title draws me into the story being shared.  It is most definitely a starting point - a first paragraph if you like.. :)

Here's my layout:

[Have Faith]
products used: cs - bazzill; pp - October Afternoon; alpha - American Crafts, October Afternoon, kaisercraft mini alphas; other - October Afternoon stickers, string, machine stitching, tim holtz distress ink, shipping tag, kaisercraft ink (antique blue, sepia).

If you think this LO looks odd, because it is about encouraging journaling and you can't really see any on the sample... well... LOL!! My journaling has been hidden behind shipping tag!!

Be sure to visit The Boxx blog for more ideas and inspiration.  Thanks for visiting..x

Oh!!!  And one last thing.  It's FREE class weekend at Miss Art's Papercrafting school.  The fabulous Lisa Valentine is being featured.  Check this out:

Hope you have fun!

This month we are starting a little journaling challenge over at The Boxx blog for those of us who need a little prompting to write the story behind our scrapbooking layouts.

If you would like to play along, we are using (strangely enough!!) a prompt!  I am challenging you, during this very busy holiday season, to journal on our layouts.  The prompt is something we would like to...

It can be anything.  "Remember to" do, say or think about.

I want to "remember to" record the details.  Here's my layout based on the Creative Scrappers sketch #183:

[Remember]

products used:  cs- stampin' up; pp - Nikki Sivils Gingerbread Lane; alphas - Nikki Sivils; other - ink: Tim Holtz distress ink, shipping tags, machine stitching.

This layout is based on memories from last year.  The little things I don't want to forget.  Especially since it was the last Christmas I had with my Dad.

I hope you will join in.  If not, you can at least check it out here...x  Thanks for visiting.

Create...& family life...

There has been so much happening that I feel like I have fallen off the grid here in blogging land! :D Sorry Guys! hee hee... But I do have something I can share.

The next prompt is up at Journal Challenges and we are documenting our "favourites".

This is what I came up with...
{Favourite no. 4}

I wanted to think outside the box with this challenge and I know it's cliche to go with a picture of your kids so.... I journaled about the number 4. And especially about what it means to me now.

journaling reads: until this moment i've never really had a favourite number. not even a lucky one. but i've grown to love 4 because of you. i am blessed 4 times over, i have 4 times the amount of love and 4 times the joy. 4 is just perfect for me...x i love you guys.

Also in the past week, we have celebrated a new member of our family (our nephew Elijah)...

Isn't he the cutest!!!

Mark has celebrated another birthday...

Happy birthday honey!! WE LOVE YOU!!! Mwah!!

We've had hockey carnivals....

Supported our nephews soccer semi-finals (big brothers to Elijah)...

Bounced...

Danced...
and entertained...
Not to mention kicking footballs (Auskick), having tantrums, making messes, doing puzzles, visiting friends, dressing up, gardening and going to school. In between all this, not much scrapping is getting done!! So tomorrow, I may have to forget about the tantrums just to fit some in! LOL!!

Thanks for visiting...x

The new challenge is up over at Journal Challenges. This fortnight's prompt is humour. I wanted to document the fun and games these two get up to, when playing outside after school. It sometimes gets a bit rough but I'm told it's all in the spirit of good fun! We'll see about that....
Anyway.... Head on over and have a go!

Yay! I'm back from the brink of certain "hay fever" death!! LOL! I know it eventually goes away after some decent sleep....but with a teething bubba in the house, sleep apparently isn't a priority for some! LOL!

The next Journal Challenge has been posted. We have to journal onto something that is not paper or cardstock... You know, something a little bit different. I went with masking tape. I don't know why I haven't done this before! It is really quick and easy.

The jounalling is directly from the post below! Like I said, really quick and easy! hee hee...

I also combined this challenge with #45 sketch from Inspired Blueprints.

I have been busy scrapping away this week with the Kim Archer round 2 projects and yesterday my box of goodies arrived from the Boxx. Guess I now know what I am doing this week-end!
