I'm a JOT Girl!

Hello Friends!  I am so very excited to share some scrappy news with you (although it is not so much a secret any more! lol).  I am very honoured to say I will be a part of JOT Magazine's design team for 2015.

Kim Archer contacted me and asked if I would like to be a part of the team and I may have been really, really enthusiastic with my response! *grin*  However, I am not only a Jot Girl but Kim has asked if I would like to be a part of a select group of three to concentrate on Project Life! OH MY GOSH!  I am still picking my jaw up off the floor.  These ladies, Petra Corcoran and Beshka Kueser, are ah-maz-ing!!

The talent on this team overall is astounding and I can only hope to keep up with these inspirational ladies.  But I am also very aware of the incredible creative talent who became the 30 finalists - yes, there were two rounds for the selection process.  These ladies had to have made Kim's choice incredibly hard.

So once again I am thankful for these humbling opportunities and grateful for the chance to continue sharing my family's stories on paper.

Thankyou for visiting..x

Greatest View + Jot Magazine...

Hello lovely friends.  Today I am sharing a layout created for Greatest View and our team up project with Jot Magazine.

Our challenge was to use the words "Greatest View" in either our title or our journaling.  Our subject could be interpreted in any way we wanted.  So how could I not use a photo of my kids!  *grin*

"My Greatest View"

products used: pp - Carta Bella; Greatest View - Badges/flair (Chalkboard Hearts, Snapshot, Arrows), chevron ribbon (Aqua, pale blue); ALpha - Jillibean Soup, October Afternoon; other - Carta Bella (Rough & Tumble cardstock stickers), Echo Park decorative Brads, Crate Paper chipboard, felt, paper doily, embroidery thread, glimmermist (sunflower), Tim Holtz mini paperclip; tools - hand stitching, Alta Matz 'Hearts in a Row' stencil.

I have used my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store and the gorgeous Carta Bella Rough & Tumble collection.  Who knew you could use it for more than just boyish pages! *grin*  I just added a few heart shapes courtesy of the Alta Matz "Hearts in a Row" stencil.  I just laid the stencil out flat on my base paper (the Carta Bella patterned paper is quite thick it could almost be classed as cardstock) and traced where I wanted the hearts to be placed on my LO.  I then paper pierced the outline and spent a long time hand stitching with white embroidery thread. *grin*

The "Snapshots" badge/flair is a perfect little embellishment.  I love the colours and the symbolism it adds to my page.

The other badges/flair I have used from the Greatest View shop are "Chalkboard Hearts" and "Arrows".

journaling says: "everyday I feel so blessed to be a part of their growing lives. it amazes me to know that I am so very lucky to help guide and nurture them. everyday my world revolves around being their mother & to see the path they choose to walk as they grow, is & always will be, my greatest view.."

I hope you will visit both the Greatest View and Jot Magazine blogs to check out what all the other designers have created for this challenge.  Thanks so much for visiting..x

LPS + Greatest View | Colour challenge...

Hello lovely friends!  Today I have double the fun sharing with you the latest colour challenge from Life.Paper.Scrapbook and announcing that the sponsor for the challenge is Greatest View. How exciting is that!  The winner of this months challenge will receive a $15.00 gift voucher to spend in the store and there are SO many great things in the store at the moment!!!

Here is the colour palette...  A beautiful selection of soft grey, brown and yellow hues.

"Beach"

products used: cs - kaisercraft, best creations; pp - Crate Paper, Authentique, Kaisercraft, Echo Park, American Crafts (Amy Tan), Bella BLVD, Ruby Rock-it; alpha - silhouette portrait; Greatest ViewFresh Style badges/flair; other - American Crafts clear stamps (Amy Tan), Crate Paper border stickers, home made flower, kaisercraft mini bloom, October Afternoon sprinklers (token), Close To My Heart (chocolate) ink; tools - silhouette portrait (stars + arrows/alphas), typewriter, hole punch, machine stitching.

I have chosen to scrap a Summer photo.  Not something traditionally suited for beach themed snapshots but I wanted to showcase the beautiful colours of the ocean that were captured with my iPhone camera.

The alphas were cut using glittered card stock (Best Creations) and my silhouette portrait.  The name of the beach we stayed at, on our mini holiday, was called Golden Beach.  To subtly link or mesh two elements together is always something I challenge myself to do on each layout.

If you would like to learn more about my layout, please visit Greatest View where I am sharing the details and story.

And don't forget to play along with us at Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

Here are the details:

- You can submit ANY kind of project - cards, minis, layouts, PL pages or any paper project.

- You can include any neutrals you like - black, white, grey, kraft

- You can use the sketch and colour challenge together just make sure you link it up to each so you have a chance to win in both.

- Colour challenge #2 runs until 11.59pm 05 April. (Don't forget we are in Australia)

- The winner of the prize will be randomly drawn

- We will also feature three of the favourite layouts and the selected layouts will be asked to guest design for the next colour challenge.

Thanks so much for visiting..x
