World Card Making Day 2016 | Bella Blvd

Hello sweet friends! It has been a little while since I've had the time to come and visit here. Please forgive my absence while I make memories with my family! LOL!

Today is World Card Making Day! Yay! The team over at Bella Blvd have come together to help celebrate. I've had the pleasure of playing with the brand new Alex collection!

Here's what I created:

"14, Good Job, Bro!"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella BLVD (Alex); alpha - Bella BLVD (Color Chaos); other - Bella BLVD: Alex paper pieces, washi tape, fundamentals; IF enamel hearts; twine; embroidery floss; tools - hand stitching.

Any mum of boys could probably tell you that they have an innate sense of gaming technology! I was drawn to using the paper piece of the xbox remote as my focal point. Boy + Game = fun birthday card!! My biggest boy turns 14 next month, so it was an easy choice to create this birthday card with him in mind.

For added whimsy, I've included hand stitching and mounted the gamer remote control onto foam dots. I also love how the patterned paper shows through the washi tape at the bottom!

Thanks for joining me here on the Bella Blog Hop.  Don't forget to check in with BB every hour to see all the fabulous creations being shared. Plus there might also be the chance to win a prize or two... hint, hint!

Good luck!  And thanks for visiting...x

Bella BLVD | Easter Egg Hunt...

Hello Friends!    Today I have something exciting to share with you.  It is part layout, part mini album, part 3D pop up interactive extravaganza!  *grin*  Alright.  That last part, maybe not so much.  But I have still included the 3D pop up surprise!

Over at Bella BLVD this month, the DT were challenged to create projects with either Spring or Easter in mind.  Well I couldn't miss an opportunity to mix the two themes together, even though here in Australia, we are heading into Autumn.  :)  So I went straight to the Sand & Surf collection and chose the gorgeous flower patterned paper (Paradise).

"The Easter Egg Hunt"

**Sorry - Removed for Publication**

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella BLVD; alpha - Bella BLVD; other - Bella BLVD: ciao chip chipboard borders, flags, miniature stickers (Spring Flings and Easter Things); paper clip, string, mist, free pop up bunny image; tools - home printer.

Initially the layout looks like a normal page.  White space, clustered elements and a little bit of mist splatter!  :) I chose this design because I wanted the bunny to be a sweet surprise.  I have held down the flap of the pop up with a simple paperclip.  It does the job perfectly and melds into the background.

As you open the flap, you will soon discover a little Easter bunny on a field of Spring flowers...

I found this free pop up template on Pinterest and adapted it to fit my page.

Of course journaling is also important for me to include and so I shared the story of Easter 2012, on the inside of the title page.

If you would like to learn a few more details about creating a similar look for a layout of your own, please visit Bella BLVD here.

Thanks so much for visiting...x

The Scrapbook Store...

Hello Friends.  The kids have started back at school today and I am trying to organise myself both here online and in the house!  LOL!  Guess which one I started with!  :)

Today I wanted to share with you this sketch created by Nadia over at The Scrapbook Store.

My take on it is a little different but that is the beauty of sketches!  I love to be able to transform a sketch that will suit my style.  It's the challenge I guess, that attracts me to sketches.  :)

Here's my layout...

"x box"

products used: cs - kaisercraft; pp - American Crafts (Amy Tangerine), Jillibean Soup; alpha - Nikki Sivils; other - Scenic Route label sticker, Nikki Sivils photo corner stickers, ink: versacolor;  tools - punches: fiskars (small cloud & medium circle), Martha Stewart (pinking circle & small circle); typewriter.

If you look carefully, the sketch is still there!  LOL!  It just isn't all dressed up in beautiful flowers and lace.  *grin*

I hope you will play along and share your interpretation too!  Thanks for visiting..x
