Bella Blvd | Pinterest Inspiration...

Hello Friends!  Happy Friday!  Today I have a Bella Blvd layout to share with you and it all started with some paperclips!!!

Every now and then the design team are challenged with an image found on Pinterest.  Laura does a fabulous job at sourcing these images and I always have fun with the ones I am assigned to.  This one however, had me scratching my head a little!  LOL!! But I have to admit, with a some thinking outside the box, I have come to really like the finished product.  *grin*

I think it was the paperclips that had me umming and ah-ing.  But I knew I was drawn to the notebook paper and the green polka dots.  The red?... Yeah, I left that in the Inspiration photo! LOL!

"Awesome Trouble"

products used: pp - Bella Blvd (Max, Lucky Starz, Family Forever); other - Bella Blvd: stickers, arrow stickers, die-cuts; paperclips, date stamp; tools - typewriter, hand stitching.

The title was fussy cut from the photo mat paper (Max: That's my Boy) and then hand stitched back on top of it.  I kind of like the camouflage look it creates.

The banner on the paperclip is taken from the Inspiration photo, as are the circles on the page.  These circles are meant to represent the circles on the paperclips from the top part of the Inspiration picture.

I've also created a little pocket under the photo layers to house my journaling.  This photo of my son and his two best mates, is priceless.  Do you know how hard it is to take a photo of just one eleven year old boy, never mind three of them???  *ahem... - I had them pinned up against a wall in the photo!!!*

And of course, no boyish layout created with the Max collection, should ever be without these awesome paper pieces!  That army guy is a fave!!!   LOL!

Head on over to the Bella Blvd blog for more takes on the Pinterest Challenge.  Thanks for visiting..x

Bella Blvd | What's New Wednesday...

Hello Friends.  I am just popping in here today to share with you my layout created for Bella Blvd and the What's New Wednesday feature.

"Today's Top Ten List"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd Snapshots: My Point Of View, Paper Pieces; Daily Chevies: Chevy Pickle Juice, Chevy Carrot; Engaged at Last: Bachelor Party; alpha - Bella Blvd: ciao chip: Sienna Alpha-Pony; Sophisticates: Black-White High Five Alphabets; other - Bella Blvd: Making The Team: Miniatures; Feathers: White, Oreo; Crochet Hearts: scallop, gulf; paint, staples tools - black pen.

I've gone ahead and grab these gorgeous white & black (oreo) feathers and layered them with latest Bella Blvd collections... Snapshots & Daily Chevies!  And it was these feathers that inspired my story for the layout.

You see.. my youngest child likes to wake up when the birds do.  Around here that can be anytime from 4.30am - 5am!!!! Yikes!!!  And yes I have tried all sorts of methods to keep him from waking at that time in the morning but it seems his body clock has set the alarm.  *sheesh!*

He is also quite keen to start the day with a list of things he.needs.to.do.  *grin*  Each night before he goes to sleep he will rattle off a number of things he wants to accomplish the next day.  Lately it is all about breakfast and what he wants in his fruit salad.

I am really looking forward to the Summer holidays starting here soon, so the other kids aren't as disturbed with their sleep as much as what they are dealing with now.  Reasoning with grumpy children in the morning isn't pretty!  Especially when they are getting ready for school!  sigh...

Thanks for visiting today...x  zzzzz

The Scrapbook Store | Play More...

Hi Everyone!  I hope your weekend has been creative so far.  I have had a little time to play and am so far holding out with hope for big plans to scrap tomorrow!  *grin*  In the meantime.. I have a layout to share created for The Scrapbook Store.

"Play More"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Elle's Studio: Serendipity; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Greatest View badges/flair; Ruby Rock-it cardstock stickers, white paint; tools - Dear Lizzy date stamp, The Crafter's Workshop stencil, black pen.

My July DT Kit supplied me with the gorgeous Elle's Studio: Serendipity collection.  It has the most delightful, soft and feminine colours but I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could create a boyish page.  I have focused more on the teal, grey and yellow colour combinations from the collection and teamed them up with Greatest View badges.

I have used a TCW chevron arrows template with white paint sponged directly onto the cardstock.  It is quite hard to see in these photos but if you squint, I'm sure you will see them!  *grin*  I've finished off the edges of my layout with some yellow chevron washi tape from my stash.  If you would like to get your hands on some or all of these products, head on over to The Scrapbook Store before they sell out.  Thanks for visiting..x

The Scrapbook Store | the ART of discipline...

Hello Friends.  If you have been following my blog for some time now, you will know that my daughter has been studying dance since she was six years old.  This year marks her seventh year and she continues to have the amazing passion of spinning and twirling as if she were still six.  But she hit a hard roadblock at the beginning of the year.

Her much loved teacher, also named Leanne, needed to focus on family and returned to the United States.  We miss her dreadfully because not only was she an incredibly talented teacher, she became and still is a beautiful family friend.

The dance studio has been bought by another lovely teacher and Tahlia continues to dance and study with her new friend.. formerly a dance student of Ms Leanne's.  *grin*  Which brings me to my layout and the hash tag of starting over_2013.

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Elle's Studio: Serendipity; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Elle's Studio: Lil' Snippets labels, Serendipity cutouts ; Manor House flowersGreen Tara miniblooms; Greatest View badges/flair: In Style, School Rocks!, triple pearl pin, sequins, twine, mist, vellum; tools - border punch, typewriter.

My girl has worked so hard in perfecting her barre work.  She is improving in strength and flexibility every day.  I got to sneak into class one day and managed to take some photos.  This layout has been created with my July DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  It is full of gorgeous Elle's Studio Serendipity.  I've just added the Greatest View badges/flair which are now also available from The Scrapbook Store.

The larger flowers are from Manor House.  The dark pink one has been cut down to size from one of the beautiful flower vines.  Trust me.  That was a hard choice to actually make that cut!  *grin* .

On a side note:  Tahlia now goes to dance class three times a week.  Twice a week with the dance studio, two hours each session and now every Thursday afternoon for three hours with her school performance team.  Last year she auditioned for and was successful in making the High School Dance Extension team - a maximum of thirty students.  Within this team, she recently auditioned for and again was successful in making the Junior Dance Troup (Eisteddfod performance team - open audition).  Again a team of thirty girls from grade 8 through to grade 10.  She was one of five grade 8 students.  Over 200 girls applied for the team.  I am so very proud of her and her achievements.  The goals she is setting and then marking off her list goes to prove her discipline in a tough field.

Thanks so much for visiting..x
