Stuck?! | Ready...

Hello Friends.  This is my last reveal for Stuck?! Sketches.  I have had a wonderful and very inspiring six months over there with Sara and the team.  The sketches are such a delight to work with and I have always found myself creating from a new perspective.  I love that.  *grin*

Here is the February 15th reveal sketch...

And my layout...

"Ready"

products used: cs - bazzill; pp - Stampin' Up, Bella BLVD, October Afternoon, Echo Park, Bo Bunny;  Alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - October Afternoon sew fun banners, Greatest View badges/flairs, kaisercraft mini blooms, staple, Manor House flowers, paperclip; tools - black pen (sharpie).

As per normal, I've changed it up a little!  LOL!  I've rotated the sketch (until it was upside-down) and then mirrored it.  I've still kept most of the elements but have added a larger journaling area directly to one of the main patterned paper blocks.

I also LOVE these gorgeous badges/flairs from Greatest View.  The delicate colours bounce off one another yet contrast in shape to the diamond background paper.  They also subtly replace the flower clusters from the sketch.

So are you ready to play? ... I hope you will now all go and visit Stuck?! Sketches to either look for inspiration or to just check out the amazing layouts created by the Creative Team.  *grin*  Either way, I hope you will play along.  Thanks for visiting..x

Hi everyone!  Today I wanted to share my layout for the February 1st sketch over at Stuck?!  This one has a large title requirement and I found the whole concept quite liberating!  yay!! :)

Stuck?! | Little Fish...

Hi Everyone!  Have you all been playing along with Stuck?! Sketches??  I just wanted to let you know that the mid-month sketch is now available to inspire you all!

And here is my layout...

"Little Fish"

products used: cs - Stampin' Up, Kaisercraft; pp - American Crafts (Dear Lizzy); alpha - American Crafts thickers, Carolee's Creations tiny alphas; other - Greatest View sequins, Dear Lizzy pinwheel, Bella!/Ruby Rockit cardstock stickers; tools - corner rounder, machine stitching.

I wanted to create a sunburst in the patterned paper space on the sketch.  This still gave me some room to have my white space below.

I quickly snapped this photo of Cameron as he got out of the pool from his swimming lesson! hee hee.. It was a bit of a covert operation as no photos are allowed.  But since I was taking a photo of my son only.. I thought I could get away with it just this once!  *smile*  Do you know how hard it is not to be able to take a photo of your kids and their milestones!!! I struggle with this one every week.  Still, this is the only photo and I have none of Ethan at his swimming lessons.

Anyway... Getting back to Stuck?!  :)  I hope you get to play along this month, because there are some wonderful prizes up for grabs.  Thanks for visiting..x

Stuck Sketches...

Hi Everyone!  What a whirlwind week it has been!  I have spent the last three days at the Brisbane Quilt and Papercraft Fair helping out at The Papercraft Hub's stand.

There were so many beautiful things to see!  Including the "wall of washi" tape I was standing next to for some of the time!  *grin*  Also, don't forget about the Design Team call over at The Papercraft Hub.  The call finishes soon and I don't want you to miss out!

........................................................

But today I want to share my layout created for the mid month Stuck?! Sketches challenge.  Here is the sketch...

and my layout...

"Bookends"

products used: cs - kaisercraft; pp - Bo Bunny, American Crafts; alpha - American Crafts (Amy Tangerine); other - Greatest View sequins, Bo Bunny brad, vellum, ink (versacolor), Mister Huey's color mist, staple; tools - Martha Stewart pinking circle, fiskars: small & medium circle punch, typewriter.

I have often referred to my eldest and youngest children as the bookends.  :) Not only do they have two other siblings (Liam and Ethan) between them, but Tahlia and Cam have the same hair and eye colouring as opposed to the other two.  hee hee... Does that make sense?  These two look alike, while the middle two resemble each other.  :)

As you can see from the sketch, I have really condensed it to suit my style.  Lots of layers and plenty of white space.

Please feel free to join in on the fun over at Stuck?!.  Paper Stories is this month's sponsor and there is a great prize up on offer!  So good luck if you are thinking of participating!  And thanks again for visiting..x

Stuck?! Sketches...

Hi Everyone!  Just a quick shout out to let you know that the new sketch is now up over at Stuck?! Sketches!  (We are away camping at the moment and this post has been scheduled!!) :D

Here is the sketch...

And this is my take on it...

"Some Days"

products used: pp - Echo Park; alpha - Echo Park; other - vellum, Echo Park cardstock stickers, washi tape, Greatest View badge/flair, mister huey's mist, versacolor ink.

LOL!  I love this photo of my youngest son having a "moment"! *grin*  It seems to be his "thing" to do if he is not getting something he wants.  :)  And in a household with three older siblings... It's not always going to go his way!  Still, I wanted to capture the memory before he outgrows his body language.  :)

The sketch does have a place for journaling to be included.  However, I chose to type my notes up and adhere it to the back of the layout.  I do this quite often if I have a story to tell and it doesn't quite fit on the front of the page...

So that's it.  I hope you will join in on the challenge of creating from this sketch.  Thanks so much for visiting.  I'm off to sit back around a camp fire!! hee hee...x

Today...

Hi Everyone!!  It's time to share another layout for Stuck?! Sketches!!  These sketches are such a great way to get you motivated and I have created with that thought in mind.

The sketch allows you to add journaling.  How much, is up to you.  But for me, I find that I need to tell the story on my pages.  Something I find I am returning to do more and more of lately.  :) The photo on my layout doesn't really relate to the story directly, but I have used it to express my youngest son's independent streak.  *grin*

"Today"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft, Core'dinations; pp - American Crafts (Amy Tangerine), Echo Park (Dots & Stripes), Bella Blvd; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Greatest View sunburst flair/badge, toothpick, vellum, Amy Tangerine clear stamps, versacolor ink (charcoal), Mister Huey's mist, black pen (sharpie), typewriter.

There are lots of layers but my layout still manages to capture the essence of the sketch.  I hope you will join in and share your interpretation.

--------------------------------------------------------------

In other exciting scrappy news, I have been asked to join the Design Team over at The Scrapbook Store (formerly Handmade by Suzanne)!  I am so excited about this new adventure and I am looking forward to working with the fabulous team of ladies already in residence.. :)

Thanks for taking the time to visit....x

Original...

Hi Everyone!  Are you ready for a sketch challenge?  Well check out this awesome over at Stuck?! Sketches. The September 1st challenge is now live...  Here is the sketch..

And here is my interpretation..

"Original"

products used: cs - bazzill, kaisercraft, Stampin' Up, Core'dinations; pp - American Crafts (Amy Tangerine); Greatest View - printed baggie, sequins, "original" feather badge/flair; other - American Crafts (Amy Tangerine) clear stamp, versacolor ink (charcoal & pinecone), jillibean soup round sprout, fiskars arrow punch, star punch (unknown), Mister Huey's mist, Girls' Paperie cardstock sticker, typewriter, machine stitching.

I think seeing the rather LARGE photo in the sketch immediately freaked me out! lol!! How often do you see that size photo on one of my layouts?! haha!  How about... ummm... never! *grin*

So I substituted the large photo in the sketch to include a photo and some journaling.  :) Not only have I got some journaling visible but that fabulous printed baggie (available from Greatest View) can hold extra memorabilia and notes.

Also from Greatest View are these fabulous feather badges/flairs.  And it is absolutely perfect for my title! lol!!

So I hope you will join in on the fun over at Stuck?!.  I can't wait to see your creations.  Thanks for visiting..x

Stuck?! Sketches...

Hello Friends.  Today I am still a little pumped over meeting Amy Tangerine yesterday.  She was so engaging and offered some fun and fabulous tips for scrapbooking your memories.  She also let us know a few of her plans for her new release next year!

But today I want to share my application layout for Stuck?! Sketches. :)  And wouldn't you know it! *grin.  It has a bit of the Amy Tangerine collection on it! (How was that for timing!)

"First Snow"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - American Crafts (Amy Tangerine); alpha - October Afternoon, Nikki Sivils, typewriter (my own); other - clear stamps: Amy Tangerine, Mister Huey's mist, versacolor ink (charcoal & pinecone), punches: fiskars large & medium circle, Martha Stewart circle; tape - foam mounting tape.

Originally I had the journaling tucked away behind the layers of patterned paper (and it was true to the sketch!). But I now much prefer the journaling to be visible on this layout as it showcases the beautiful "camera" stamped image.  And my kids won't be continually reaching behind the pp's to read what I wrote about them! LOL!  A big incentive to having it visible!

Thanks everyone for visiting and I hope you all have a wonderful, creative week-end!  Happy Scrapping.  I'm off to find the floor of my scrap space! ..x

ps - blogger isn't playing nice with me at the moment, so please bear with me as I tackle these issues in the next week.  :)  Thanks again..x
