JOT Magazine | October Mood Board...

Hey there! I'm back! LOL! I need to start getting back into the swing of blogging again, and well... so far... I'll keep my fingers crossed!! *wink*

Today I want to share with you all the gorgeous new mood board over at Jot Magazine.   This one has been created by the lovely Raquel and I've fallen for the soft pastel style hues...

Here is what I've been inspired to create..

products used: cs - American Crafts, Bazzill; pp - Jillibean Soup; other - Bella BLVD transparency, enamel doodads; Heidi Swapp Minc butterfly, rose pink foil; Crate Paper Butterfly embellishment, sticker phrases; tools - machine stitching, Heidi Swapp metal die, Jillibean Soup Happy Hues (paint).

These two cards will be popped into the mail later this week! Who doesn't love some happy mail!

Hello Friends! I've not started the year off very well with blogging! Oops! Let's get straight back into it with another stunning Mood Board for Jot Magazine...

After struggling to find purple in my stash, I finally resorted to playing with layers thanks to the always beautiful Heidi Swapp goodies...

JOT | August Mood Board...

Have you seen the latest and greatest Jot Mood Board for this month yet?  If not, you really need to hop on over to the JOT blog asap!! It is a stunner and created by the very lovely Amanda Hall.

 

I was particularly inspired by the tones of navy, delicate fret work and touches of silver...

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella!; alpha - American Crafts; other - Bella Blvd: clear cuts, stickers; Heidi Swapp: Minc label, silver foil, silver stickers; Greatest View badges/flair; Scraptastic Club cut aparts; Kaisercraft: rub-on doily, transparent leaves; paper doily; Dear Lizzy chipboard ephemera, Maggie Holmes camera embellishment; tools - typewriter, machine stitching, Heidi Swapp Minc.

 

Do you see that cool background? Believe it or not, that's just a piece of navy cardstock layered with another gorgeous Bella Blvd clear cut on top! Trim both pieces to the same size and then machine stitch together. I love the effect of that woodgrain pattern.

 



 

My cluster of embellishments were gathered together if they were transparent or contained the coloured tones of Navy, Grey or Silver. After playing with the layer levels I moved onto my next adventure.. Silver foil and a Minc!

 



 

I had an absolute blast playing with my new Heidi Swapp Minc! The label holding my title was silver foiled... nice and easy as my first foray into the world of minc-ing! *grin*

JOT Magazine | June Moodboard...

Hello Friends!  Are you excited to see the new Jot Magazine June Moodboard?  It is a stunner!  The lovely Natalie Elphinstone is this month's guest pinner and what a delightful colour scheme she has created for us to play with!

I'll always be the first to admit that I love pink!  And when it comes in shades of flamingo and watermelon, well.. I am absolutely smitten!  There was no way I was planning on sitting this challenge out!

products used: cs - American Crafts, Bazzill; pp - Bella Blvd (Colorchaos), Scraptastic Club (Text Me); PL Card - Becky Higgins; other - Scraptastic Club: cut aparts; Bella Blvd: Bella Bows, ColorChaos "&" sticker, enamel dots; Heidi Swapp "Happy" die; Dear Lizzy ephemera; Crate Paper Poolside ephemera; Kaisercraft: ephemera; Pebbles: gold glitter banner; Elle's Studio label; tools - machine stitching, sharpie, circle punch.

I've even created some of my own watermelon embellishments to add to the page. It was a simple matter of using a small circle punch to cut cardstock from pink cardstock and layer it on top of a slightly larger green cardstock circle. Trim the circle in half and then add small "v" shapes with a black pen.

And don't you think the Bella Bow from Bella Blvd is the perfect colour to grab your attention?

Jot Magazine | February Mood Board...

Hello Friends!  Have you seen the latest mood board created for the JOT Magazine blog?  It is such a beautiful colour palette and totally suits February!

 

 

I found plenty of inspiration from the image but I started with the bright pop of red heart and the black and white stripes!  The bold stripes were toned down using Bella Blvd's new clear cuts transparency.

products used: cs - American Crafts, Bazzill; pp - Crate Paper, Fancy Pants, Bella Blvd; other - Dear Lizzy water color word, Studio Calico gold stars, Maggie Holmes stickers, October Afternoon die cuts, enamel dots, Scraptastic Club flair/badge, Bella Blvd: transparency, label sticker; sequin; tools - machine stitching, paint, Heidi Swapp colorshine.

 

I love the heart string layers as well and just knew I needed to used them on my page in some form or the other.  I cut several heart shapes from both red cardstock and floral pp via my silhouette.  I then simply stitched the pp to the cardstock and folded the heart along the stitching line.

 



 

The Dear Lizzy water color word was coated with Heidi Swapp colorshine, which helped me bring some of the gold elements from the mood board onto my page.
