Hello Friends! Do you often write up list of things you'd like to do or accomplish? I don't know about you, but the "bucket list" style journaling had me wanting to use it on a layout. And I am so happy I did!

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup Spoonful of Soul; Alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup pea pod parts, wood veneers, stickers, puffy stickers, epoxy stickers, clear stamp; ink, paint, embroidery thread; tools - machine stitching, typewriter.

I went a step further and used the words "Bucket List" in the title as well!

Bella Blvd | Just Add Color...

Hi Everyone! Today I wanted to share with you the amazing versatility of Bella Blvd's Just Add Color collection.  I have had so much fun creating this layout, fussy cutting and breaking out the watercolour paints!

"Star"

products used: cs - Bazzill, American Crafts; pp - Bella Blvd (Color Chaos, Just Add Color); alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: stickers, enamel doodads, word strips (Little Bits); watercolour paint; tools - machine stitching.

You see, the new double-sided collection allows you to add a great deal more personality to your pages! One side comes with glorious colours, cute sayings and bold graphics, while the other side shares images and outlines of shapes.  This is where the fun part begins!

You can use these shape and theme outlines to highlight a photo/s with any colour of your choosing, simply by colouring them in yourself with your choice of medium! How easy is that!

I needed to the photo of my son (the one in yellow) to stand apart from the colours of the opposing team. This can be quite difficult sometimes, especially when documenting sporting events!  The stars were colour matched to the photo with a little premixing of watercolours directly on the palette. Before fussy cutting them out, I also added a some gentle splashes of black and teal paint to the blank stars.  I also wasn't bothered about staying in the lines. In fact it was quite a deliberate choice on my part.  I figure outdoor sports are generally messy (well at least the ones my sons play!!!) and the overall look of my layout could handle it.  *grin*

The word sticker strips, otherwise known as Bella Blvd Little Bits, were another fun addition to this page.  I love how I could convey the story of our Saturdays, with several well placed and colour coordinated sayings!

Another fun and somewhat subtle feature on my page is the layering of the Color Chaos Strandz patterned paper.  In the photo above you will be able to see miniature hockey sticks along side of my photo.  It is just a small detail, but one that helps share the story.

Thanks for joining me here today.  If you would like to see more of the Just Add Color collection, head on over to Bella Blvd and check out the talent from our other CT members...x

Bella Blvd | Back to School Week...

Hi Everyone!  Over on the Bella Blvd blog this week, we are celebrating a timeless tradition!  he he he... Back to School!

"School Ready"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd: Tiny Tots; alpha - Bella Blvd: Amorie Chipboard Alpha; other - Bella Blvd: crochet heart, stickers, chipboard; staple, ManorHouse leaf; tools - typewriter.

Next year, in January, my last baby goes to school.  Not only will this event be quite the milestone for him, but it will also be quite a momentous occasion for me!  And I dare say I'll be more upset than he will about the prospects of attending school!  However, for the longest time, he has been content to wave goodbye to his siblings in the morning, as they ride the bus to school and happily come back home with me.  This situation has clearly changed in the last few weeks.  He is confident and ready to go to school.  He does a lot of 'practising' while at home and of course, now invents homework to complete along side his brothers and sister after they arrive back home, in the afternoon.

Today I have used the new Tiny Tots collection to document his learning process.  The Alphabet Soup patterned paper is ideal!  To further enhance my story, I've included a short video of my boy doing his 'homework' via a  QR code at the bottom of the layout.  Careful as to not obscure the details of the code, I've surrounded it with stickers from the Tiny Tots Trinkets and Treasure & Text sticker sheets.   Finally, to transform this new collection into a school themed layout, I've added a McIntosh Crochet Heart with a small leaf, to repeat the apple motif found below.

I hope you get a chance to check out all the inspiration over at Bella Blvd this week!! Thanks for visiting today...x

Bella Blvd | Pinterest Inspiration...

Hi Everyone!  I am back this week with another Bella Blvd Pinterest Inspired layout and it has everything to do with sequins!

Last week I created a very masculine page.  This week and with these colours, I've gone very feminine.  Besides, surely you can't have sequins in an Inspiration Photo and NOT go girly!  LOL!

"Easter Prayer"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd (Molly, Lucky Starz); alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: stickers; sequins, embroidery floss; tools - hand stitching, foam tape.

The colour palette (minus the purple) and the sequins dominated my thought process when creating this layout.  Even the way the colour strips were added to the Inspiration photo, I pulled into the layout but in a horizontal way rather than vertical.

The fussy cut flowers and stars create a beautiful feature on the layout which balances my square black and white photo.  The sequins are just an added bonus!  I love sequins!! *grin*  And the pink and silver subtly entwined with the fussy cut element s creates a magical trail of sparkle across my page.

If you would like to see what the other designers created with this Inspiration photo, please head on over to the Bella Blvd blog.  Thanks for visiting...x

Bella Blvd & Page Maps...

Hello lovely friends!! Today I am so excited to share with you, a layout created for the Becky Fleck Page Maps challenge with the Bella Blvd team.
Becky created this 8.5" x 11" sketch for me to base my layout on.  And I absolutely fell in love with it!  *grin* As soon as I stared my creative process, the layout came together so fast!

Using Bella Blvd Family Forever collection, I've pretty much followed along with the sketch, paper placement by paper placement!  I may have changed it up a little by using a square photo rather than the suggested 3.5"x5" photo.

"Before Prep"

products used: pp - Bella Blvd (Family Forever/Molly); Alpha - Bella Blvd Sophisticates: Blue High Five Alphabets; other - Bella Blvd: (Family Forever) Candid Cards, Paper Pieces, Trinkets, Treasures & Text, (Snapshots) Bookplates & Captions,  Designer Tape: Ice Stripe; Embroidery floss, navy ink; tools - typewriter.

Check out what the other DT members have come up with!  You will need to go to PageMaps to see the full reveals!

Bella Blvd is hosting a giveaway over on the PageMaps blog to go along with the release of the April sketches.  Make sure and stop by their blog to find out how to enter in the giveaway.  Thanks for visiting...x

Jillibean Soup | Best Day Ever...

Hello Friends!  Today I wanted to share my layout created for Jillibean Soup.  I was totally inspired by our Christmas being celebrated in Summer and wanted to convert it onto a page.  The stitching on the stars and the beach theme really make me happy! *grin*  It is a long way from the traditional red and green theme of Christmas but who's to say we can't change it up every now and then!  :)

 "best.day.ever"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup (Cold Avocado Soup); other - Jillibean Soup: wooden button, stampable frames, flash cards, soup labels, wise words; mist; tools - typewriter, silhouette portrait.

Stars are quite universal at Christmas time, don't you think? Stitching over them like this reminds me of those banner/strings that are popular to wrap around gifts.  I've seen quite a bit of fancy gift wrapping over on Pinterest! LOL! Anyway...  I would probably label this type of gift wrapping under "the little things, my little people wouldn't appreciate!" *grin*  After all, at the moment they are only interested in what is on the inside of the package!

So, what's inspiring you these days?  Blogs? Pinterest? Christmas? Thanks so much for visiting...x
