Jot Magazine | February Mood Board...

Hello Friends!  Have you seen the latest mood board created for the JOT Magazine blog?  It is such a beautiful colour palette and totally suits February!

I found plenty of inspiration from the image but I started with the bright pop of red heart and the black and white stripes!  The bold stripes were toned down using Bella Blvd's new clear cuts transparency.

"dream"

products used: cs - American Crafts, Bazzill; pp - Crate Paper, Fancy Pants, Bella Blvd; other - Dear Lizzy water color word, Studio Calico gold stars, Maggie Holmes stickers, October Afternoon die cuts, enamel dots, Scraptastic Club flair/badge, Bella Blvd: transparency, label sticker; sequin; tools - machine stitching, paint, Heidi Swapp colorshine.

I love the heart string layers as well and just knew I needed to used them on my page in some form or the other.  I cut several heart shapes from both red cardstock and floral pp via my silhouette.  I then simply stitched the pp to the cardstock and folded the heart along the stitching line.

The Dear Lizzy water color word was coated with Heidi Swapp colorshine, which helped me bring some of the gold elements from the mood board onto my page.

If you would like to join along with our challenge, you can find all the details here!! There's already some amazing inspiration from the Jot Girls up on the blog with more to come throughout the month!  Scrappy Canary is this month's generous sponsor giving you a chance to win a $20 gift voucher.  I hope to see you there...x

Happy WCMD!!

Hi Everyone!  Happy World Card Making Day!! I am getting into the spirit today with a card I created for Bella Blvd using the 'happy' colours from Scattered Sprinkles and Summer Squeeze!

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella BLVD (Scattered Sprinkles, Summer Squeeze); tools - machine stitching.

I've kept this card relatively simple with a basic colour palette.  For that extra touch of dimension, I've fussy cut two hearts from the Summer Squeeze Borders patterned paper and machine stitched them together.

Don't forget to head on over to Bella Blvd today for plenty more Card Making inspiration every hour on the blog.  Thanks for visiting...x

Jillibean Soup | June Layouts...

Hello Friends!  Today I want to share with you one of my layouts from the Jillibean Soup blog this week.

This month I've had fun playing with the new releases.  In particular, Spicy Social Soup and Sightseeing Stew.  Layering them all together is one of my favourite things to do. And I really wanted to use orange, green and grey in a colour combination.  Weird.  I know! *grin*

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: Spicy Social Soup pea pod parts (die cuts), soup labels, clear stamps; mist, Archivers Ink, small clothes peg; tools - machine stitching, alpha die & big shot.

After I had added my layers, I knew I needed to add something.  Just a little something but it has made a fun impact.  The clear stamps from Spicy Social Soup was my solution.  These hashtags are my fave! # epic # you&me # lovethis

The large white alphas are from a MFT die and I love mixing up the different text sizes and fonts for my titles.

My second layout involves this month's designer challenge.  We were challenge to select a quote from Pinterest and use it in our designs.  I went looking and probably stayed on Pinterest for days!!! LOL!  Before I finally fell in love with this image.

(source)

I love the font, the type and the stylized way the letters are formed.  But most of all I love the words.

This is the layout I was inspired to create...

Thanks for visiting today!  I always appreciate it and the lovely comments you leave behind...x

Jillibean Soup | My Whole Heart...

Hi Everyone!  Today I want to share with you a layout challenge we were given as designers over at Jillibean Soup.  Jill challenged us to use the silhouette files (especially created to match up with the awesome Jillibean Soup product) or use the mini/large place mats on a layout.  What a fun challenge!!

I chose to work with the mini placemats!  They are super cute.  This is what I came up with.

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: wood sprinkles, mini placemat, woodgrain bag (stampables), wooden flag, stickers; tools - typewriter, machine stitching.

I have placed a wood grain, mini bag from the stampables collection, behind the placemat.  Inside the bag I have hidden my journaling.  To allow it to sit neatly behind the place mat, I've simply trimmed the top edge of the bag.

The wood sprinkles were my next indulgence on this layout!  You may have seen this sneak from a few weeks ago. *grin*

I added a little 'orange-coloured' detail in the bottom corner and layered it with a wood flag.

Finally I added my title using both the navy beanboards and the white alphabeans.  I must admit, having the grid patterned paper made my job of lining up the letters, much, much easier! LOL!

Don't forget to head on over to the Jillibean Soup blog and check out what the other DT members created! And while you are there, check and see if you are a winner of the NSD Jillibean Soup blog hop!  Congratulations to Kaitlynne Roil, who was randomly selected from the many entries on my blog post.  She has won the four packets of clear stamps.  Thanks to everyone who played along..x

Life.Paper.Scrapbook | December Colour challenge...

Hello Friends.  This is my last challenge with Life.Paper.Scrapbook.  It has been a pleasure to create with this amazing and talented team of beautiful scrappers!! They have been a source of inspiration, encouragement and simply wonderful friendship.  I am so glad to have gotten to know them.  :)

This month's colour challenge is stunning!  Check out the inspiration...

I've created another card this month to coordinate with our colour challenge.  With December being ridiculously busy (!!!!), I just wanted to simplify things.  *grin*

I created this card not long after I attended Heidi Swapp's MakePrettyStuffDownUnder tour!  Can you see her inspiration/influence? LOL!  I certainly broke out my new colorshine mist.

This month's sponsor is Big Picture Classes, and the class is Project Real Life.

Bella Blvd | Friday Sketch...

Hi Everyone!  Today I am sharing my layout created for the Friday Sketch over at Bella Blvd.  This sketch comes courtesy of Becky Fleck and is just divine! *grin*

This is how my layout looks, after I shrunk the sketch down to suit my preferred scrapping size...

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd; alphas - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: buttons, cardstock stickers, paper pieces, tags; mist; tools - machine stitching, black pen, foam tape.

This sketch was such a fun starting point for creating my layout and I didn't need to change it very much at all. To downsize the sketch to suit my 8.5" x 11" layout style, I minimized the number of elements placed on the right side of the photo. I then used this opportunity to create layers and dimension on top of the square elements.

I also love the little details that can already be found in the Alpha+Bits negative spaces. The stars reminded me of the little bits that float about inside snow globes when you shake them. Adding details to the circle punched paper pieces, also reminded me of these shaken features inside "round" snow globes.

Don't forget to check out what the other designers did with this sketch as well. Lot's of Christmassy creations being put together!  Thanks for visiting..x
