Jillibean Soup | Scoot...

Hello Friends!  Today I am sharing a layout that involves both Jillibean Soup and Bella Blvd!!  How lucky am I to be on both design teams!  I still pinch myself. honest.

As a member of the Jillibean Soup DT, Bella Blvd challenged us to use the new clear cut confetti transparencies!  I love these!

Here's what I came up with..

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup; Bella Blvd - Clear Cut Confetti Pickle Juice; Alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: label stickers, sequins, file cards, enamel stars; tools - typewriter, stapler.

I decided to create a double banner with the clear cuts layered on top of the patterned paper. I also didn't want both layers to be the exact same size to add that extra level of dimension to the layout.

Each piece was stapled together before being adhered to the page.

This page was also a great way to use up any leftover bits and pieces that I had lying about from the Cool As A Cucumber Soup; a perfect collection for scrapping your boys!

Thanks for visiting.

Jot | January Moodboard...

Happy New Year Friends!!  I hope your celebrations were full of joy and laughter!  My little family and I sat on the beach and shared the fireworks view with many, many others, who were ready to say hello to 2015.  Not a bad way to start the year, that's for sure.

I am also very happy to be starting off the year with a new Design Team.  In 2015 I am completely honoured to be a JOT Girl - fully fledged member of JOT Magazine! I'm so very excited!!! And wouldn't you know it, our first assignment is up on the blog already. Yay!

I've created a PL spread inspired by the colour palette above.  And in creating this spread, I've filled the gaps in my 2014 Project Life!  *insert HAPPY DANCE here* I was walking around the house in a state of "OMGosh!  I can't believe I have completed a full year of PL!!" Trust me.. This is a massive achievement! LOL!  Every. Other. Attempt. FAILED. *grin*

 "Weeks 47 + 48"

I chose to combine these two weeks just to make life easier.  In the weeks leading up to December everything is rather a blur and even though I've made notes, there wasn't much to distinguish between one week or the other.

The majority of my photos in this spread were altered to black and white.  They became the charcoal base, as in the moadboard and then splashes of colour were added to highlight and play with my stories.

From this moodboard in particular, I was definitely drawn to the lime green and turquoise.  But also from the inspiration photo, I have included hints of confetti on both pages. Note the small coloured triangles above and the enamel dots below.

Of course, I couldn't go past actually creating a confetti shaker pocket.  Here I've used two Becky Higgins Project Life Cards, trimmed the pink speech bubble to layer on top of the grey "Hello" card and then added sequins, paper circles and a gold foil die cut.

Now that I've shared my pages, don't forget to join in with the challenge Moodboard for this month.  It runs until the end of January.  Check out all the linky details and the other Jot Girls amazing work on the JOT blog.

Scrap Feature from Brazil...

Hi Friends! I just wanted to share a link with you all today about a wonderful Brazilian blog that approached me for a Scrapbooking feature.  The blog, Scrap Entre Amigas, is sharing a heap of different styles all together in one place.  It's actually quite impressive seeing so many creative people in cyberspace that have different creative directions, but all with one common goal. To scrap.

This is the layout they borrowed..

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd.

If you get a chance, pop on over and check out the fabulous gallery of scrapbooking styles.  Thanks for visiting..x

Jillibean Soup | Cards..

Hi Everyone!  Today I just wanted to share a few cards with you, created for Jillibean Soup.  Lately, I have a habit of creating cards from the off-cuts from my layouts!  *grin* Call it recycling if you must! But I just cannot abide to throw away healthy cardstock! LOL!!

This card is up on the Jillibean Soup blog today.  I had fun playing with this little double pinwheel.

"So Thankful"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup: Happy Camper Stew, Country Pumpkin Chowder, Soup StaplesII; other - Jillibean Soup: Soup Label, Beanstalks (orange twine); skewer, brads, ink.

These other cards are from last month!  whoops!  And again they have been made from the off-cuts of my 8.5" x 11" layouts.

"Many Thanks"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: Pea Pod Parts (die-cuts), Beanstalks (orange twine), Soup Labels, resin Sugar Pick; Kaisercraft pearls, ink; tools - embossing folder.

"Olivia"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup: alphabeans; other - Jillibean Soup: corrugated shapes, Pea Pod Parts, Soup Labels; staples, ink; tools - corner rounder.

The extra bonus I get with creating from leftovers, is that the cards are small enough to slip straight into 4" x 4" Project Life pockets!  I've done this for Mother's Day, my children's birthdays and now Father's Day.  I love the personal touch  it gives my (very challenging to keep up-to-date) Project Life.  *grin*

Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day...x

Bella Blvd | Confetti Trends...

Hi Everyone!  I'm back today to share with you a layout created for Bella Blvd.  This month the team at Bella have been given some new challenges.  One of mine was to use the trend of confetti on my page.  *grin*  I love confetti and most of you will know that I am no stranger when it comes to adding a touch of it here and there on my layouts.  However, for this challenge I decided I wanted to go crazy!! LOL!  And maybe... I went too crazy.  LOL! So, I will let you judge for yourself!  *grin*

"Rainbow of Possibilities"

sorry..
removed for publication..x

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd: Play Date, Daily Chevies, Freestyle Sophisticates; other - Bella Blvd: Play Date Captions sticker, Crochet Hearts; embroidery floss, ink; tools - circle punch, hole punch, type writer, hand stitching.

I found this adorable quote on Pinterest about rainbows and thought it suited my son perfectly. "You Are A RAINBOW of Possibilities" - unknown.  I've changed it up a little to compliment the Play Date Caption sticker used at the top of my photo.. Now my journaling reads: You light up my life with a RAINBOW of possibilities.

A bit much? Maybe.. But it was fun to create.  I even got to incorporate some of the brand new CHA collection Play Date!! It's very cute! To create a similar layout, grab your office supply hole punch and some embroidery floss.  Punch holes in your chosen paper, create a sunburst with hand stitching.  Then get busy gluing those circles down!!  LOL!  You can either strategically place your punched circles or ... ahem.. do what I did and just throw them onto the paper and glued them where they landed!

Finish off your layout with some beautiful crochet hearts from Bella Blvd, for depth and texture.  Not only do they look pretty, they add to the handmade/folksy effect I was aiming for here.  *grin*    I hope you have fun creating!! Thanks for visiting..x
