Scraptastic Club | Pinterest Monday..

Hi there!  I feel like I've been a stranger around these parts lately.  Sorry for the absence but with a household of sick children for the last two weeks, sometimes blogging gets put on the back burner! LOL!

Today I am sharing a layout created for Scraptastic Club | Pinterest MondayShellye McDaniel and I conspired together and found a gorgeous image on Pinterest.

"You are Nine"

products used: Scraptastic Club Kit - This Must Be The Place; Add on - This Must Be The Place; wood veneers - This Must Be The Place; tools - typewriter, circle punches.

I have used several sizes of circle punches and trimmed to create a straight edge across the punched patterned paper.  I have then overlapped the patterned paper from the This Must Be The Place kit (January) to create a similar design as seen in the Pinterest Inspiration.

To make it easier to line all the paper pieces together, I cut a thin strip of cardstock and adhered the circles to it before adding them to the final layout.  This also allowed me to easily adjust the placement around my photo, title and journaling.

Thanks for visiting! I hope I have shared a little inspiration to help you keep the mojo flowing.  Perhaps your next project will include a few arched and layered lines..x

Bella Blvd | Pinterest Inspiration..

Hi there Friends!!  Today I am sharing a layout I created for Bella Blvd and the monthly Pinterest Inspiration challenge!  Here is the photo found on Pinterest..

Lot's of fun and fabulous circles to play with!!!  *grin*

This is the layout I created..

"Bad Case of the Mondays"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd: other - Bella Blvd: Paper Pieces, label stickers, stickers; embroidery thread; tools - typewriter, circle punches.

I trimmed two sheets of this patterned paper at the same point, so when the top paper has circles punched into it, the bottom patterned paper still revealed what the negative shape would have taken away.

Cam always gets into a melancholy mood on a Monday morning.  He misses his older siblings when they go off to school.  *grin*  I'm pretty sure however, next year when he starts to go to school, there may be a different reason for having the grumps on a Monday!  LOL!

Thanks for vising...x

Scrap Feature from Brazil...

Hi Friends! I just wanted to share a link with you all today about a wonderful Brazilian blog that approached me for a Scrapbooking feature.  The blog, Scrap Entre Amigas, is sharing a heap of different styles all together in one place.  It's actually quite impressive seeing so many creative people in cyberspace that have different creative directions, but all with one common goal. To scrap.

This is the layout they borrowed..

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd.

If you get a chance, pop on over and check out the fabulous gallery of scrapbooking styles.  Thanks for visiting..x

Bella Blvd | What's New Wednesday...

Hi there!! I just wanted to pop in here before the weekend shows up, to share a layout I created for Bella Blvd this week.  Bella has a beautiful new Summer collection available called Summer Squeeze and while I am snuggling under the blankets here, I wanted to record a little bit of our family Summer.  But from a different perspective...

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd Summer Squeeze; alpha - Bella Blvd;  other - Bella Blvd: stickers, border scallops; gelatos, glimmermist, skewer; tools - foam tape, circle punches, typewriter, machine stitching.

My idea was to document the songs that were most popular over our Summer break. I wanted my layout to be fun and for it to emulate movement on the page with layered circles, stars and scallop borders.

The simple strip of typed text at the bottom of my layout, documents the most popular songs in our household, that were played over & over & over again... *grin*

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you have a lovely weekend in front of you...x

Jillibean Soup | 14 rounding up...

Hi Scrappy friends!  How is this fabulous Friday treating you?  I've already been super busy baking and produced 2 lemon meringue pies and a batch of cupcakes, and it's not even 10 am yet! LOL!  We are getting ready for a very busy week-end as my gorgeous girl celebrates her 14th birthday tomorrow!! Seriously!! sheesh!

So sharing this layout today for Jillibean Soup is very timely.  *grin*

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - JBS: stickers, woodshapes, pea pod parts, circle placemat; skewers; tools - machine stitching, typewriter.

I love the story behind this LO.  As you can see from the journaling my 'baby' girl is at the stage where she's wanting to be older than she is!  *grin* She's almost grown up.  Almost.  My youngest brother and Tahls have a special relationship.  They love to try and out-do each other with everything, so it's probably a good thing that she only sees him once or twice a year! LOL!  Yes.  My 30 something-year-old brother is a bigger kid than anyone I know! And his niece and nephews adore him for it.

Now don't forget, tomorrow also marks the beginning of "national scrapbooking day" and there's going to be a lot of inspiration flying about the www this week-end.  I hope you have a chance to play along with the many challenges that are bound to pop up!  Stay tuned as I'll also be sharing some more projects.

Thanks so much for visiting today...x

Bella Blvd | Pinterest Inspiration...

Hello Friends!  Happy Friday!  Today I have a Bella Blvd layout to share with you and it all started with some paperclips!!!

Every now and then the design team are challenged with an image found on Pinterest.  Laura does a fabulous job at sourcing these images and I always have fun with the ones I am assigned to.  This one however, had me scratching my head a little!  LOL!! But I have to admit, with a some thinking outside the box, I have come to really like the finished product.  *grin*

I think it was the paperclips that had me umming and ah-ing.  But I knew I was drawn to the notebook paper and the green polka dots.  The red?... Yeah, I left that in the Inspiration photo! LOL!

"Awesome Trouble"

products used: pp - Bella Blvd (Max, Lucky Starz, Family Forever); other - Bella Blvd: stickers, arrow stickers, die-cuts; paperclips, date stamp; tools - typewriter, hand stitching.

The title was fussy cut from the photo mat paper (Max: That's my Boy) and then hand stitched back on top of it.  I kind of like the camouflage look it creates.

The banner on the paperclip is taken from the Inspiration photo, as are the circles on the page.  These circles are meant to represent the circles on the paperclips from the top part of the Inspiration picture.

I've also created a little pocket under the photo layers to house my journaling.  This photo of my son and his two best mates, is priceless.  Do you know how hard it is to take a photo of just one eleven year old boy, never mind three of them???  *ahem... - I had them pinned up against a wall in the photo!!!*

And of course, no boyish layout created with the Max collection, should ever be without these awesome paper pieces!  That army guy is a fave!!!   LOL!

Head on over to the Bella Blvd blog for more takes on the Pinterest Challenge.  Thanks for visiting..x

This month's colour challenge is stunning!  Check out the inspiration...

I've created another card this month to coordinate with our colour challenge.  With December being ridiculously busy (!!!!), I just wanted to simplify things.  *grin*

I created this card not long after I attended Heidi Swapp's MakePrettyStuffDownUnder tour!  Can you see her inspiration/influence? LOL!  I certainly broke out my new colorshine mist.

This month's sponsor is Big Picture Classes, and the class is Project Real Life.

The Scrapbook Store | 100 minutes...

Hello Friends.  Amid my crazy 'Week In The Life' challenge this week I have a scrappy share for you today.  This is my final DT layout for The Scrapbook Store's October kit.  Next month I have something really exciting to share with you all.  I am putting together a December Daily album which you can follow along with over on The Scrapbook Store's blog.  Check out these gorgeous papers and embellishments I will be working with!!!

This is a limited edition kit and you need to pre-order by Thursday 31st October, if you are interested in playing along with me.  More details can be found here

Meanwhile, I've been playing with Carta Bella Rough & Tumble again.  I wanted to document Cam's current favourite saying and yes, he does have plenty at the moment, but this one is so cute.  *grin*

"100 minutes"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Carta Bella Rough & Tumble; alpha - Bella Blvd, Jillibean Soup; other - Carta Bella: cardstock stickers, Echo Park: decorative brads, mist; tools - machine stitching, black pen, foam tape.

I love this.  He is trying to grasp the concept of time.  100 is such. big. number.  Especially for a four year old! LOL!! Everything is 100 toy or 100 hungry or 100 food.  But 100 minutes is my favourite because even if I ask him (or anyone) to wait for 'just a moment' suddenly he claims 'But that is 100 minutes!!!' Of course it works in the opposite manner as well.  'That will happen tomorrow Cam.' 'But Mum! That is 100 minutes!!' LOL!  *grin*  I just can't win.

As a side note, I created my own pie chart embellishments on this page.  I just wanted a little something to add but nothing too distracting.  I also need to add just a small touch of yellow to complete my visual triangle.  And speaking of shapes.. I think I've added every kind of basic shape you can think of, to this one layout! *grin*.

Thanks for visiting today and don't forget to check out the December Daily kit over at The Scrapbook Store..x

Bella Blvd | Pinterest Inspiration...

Hello Friends!  It's time for a little Bella Blvd Pinterest Inspiration today and this was something of a challenge for me!!  Laura always chooses awesome images and this photo is no exception.

However, we normally don't celebrate Halloween in our household, even though the idea of this particular "holiday" is becoming more popular in Australia in recent times.  And even if the photo can be interpreted away from the Halloween theme.. I can't escape the Autumnal colours!  Eeeeek!! We are experiencing Spring Down Under (even though it feels ridiculously like Summer!). *grin*

So how did I get around these challenges in the challenge? I chose fun photos taken in gorgeous afternoon light.  That solves everything right? *wink*

"Fun Can Happen Anywhere"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; Bella Blvd - Snapshots: Snapshots Tabs; Trick or Treat: Happy Owlween; Finally Fall: Borders, At The Patch, Quadrants; Sand&Surf: Paradise; Bookplates: Everyday Bookplates; Sophisticates: Yellow High Five Alphabets; Crochet Hearts: Orange; Designer Tape: Pickle Juice Stripe Tape; other - embroidery thread (black), sequins; tools - silhouette portrait, black pen, foam tape.

My children have certainly had an eventful September/October school holiday this year.  We did so much and most of it was from the comfort of our own home! This particular day was all about the water fight!  Simple pleasures!! LOL!

If you would like to see a little more about the process of my layout, please visit Bella Blvd here.  You will also get to check out the other fabulous DT interpretations of the Pinterest Inspiration photo too.  Thanks so much for visiting..x
