Bella Blvd | Secrets of the Sea mini album...

Hi Everyone! Today I want to share a project that I featured over on my Instagram for Bella Blvd. It's a mini album created using the Secrets of the Sea Boy collection. I love this 4x4 mini album size, as I can slip my Instagram photos straight in with minimal fuss!

I found my album's title quote on Pinterest and I think it suits this project perfectly!

"Bare Feet & Salty Hair"

products used: mini album - We R Memory Keepers 4x4 (black); pp - Bella Blvd (Secrets of the Sea Boy); alpha - Bella Blvd: Secrets of the Sea Boy Fundamentals; embellishments - Bella Blvd: Secrets of the Sea Boy Designer clips, paper pieces, puffy icon stickers; other - cardstock, machine stitching, typewriter.

Each 4x4 Instagram photo was mounted onto patterned paper and off set on the opposite page insert with a die cut paper piece, puffy sticker icon or a few notes  of journaling.

Some of my photos were posed but most of them are a capture of our family holiday in-the-moment snapshots.

The Bella Blvd Secret of the Sea boy collection was simply ideal for documenting our Summer holiday. I hope I have inspired you to also create a project using this collection the next time you pull out beach photos to scrap! Thanks so much for visiting..x

Scraptastic Club | Thursday Challenge...

Hello Friends!  It's time to issue a challenge!  Have you noticed how popular Instagram is becoming within the scrapbooking community? I personally love this form of photo sharing social media!  It's a great way to upload images quickly and easily! And as a creative forum, there is always plenty of inspiration being shared.

But what do you do with the photos after they've been shared? Do you print them out? And do you scrap them??  If not, today's challenge over at Scraptastic Club is to encourage you to break into your Instagram account, print off your favourite photos and scrap them.

I will admit that my Instagram photos are used frequently on my layouts.  I am inspired to use them as there is often a story to be told.  (Also, as a side note, my Instagram account is a terrific source for remembering all those details for Project Life, when I am in catch up mode!!!)

With this month's The Girl kit, in mind, I went through my Instagram photos and created this layout.

My daughter and two young nieces, were happy to play along with a mini photo shoot at a recent family gathering.  They really adore each other and I wanted to mimic their closeness with central layers of patterned paper from the kit.

I also love the white borders that frame Instagram photos.  I think of the border as an extra 'hug' to wrap around the image of the girls.

The rest of the layout has been created with touches of gold and embellishments which highlight the colours from the photo.

If you would like to join in with the challenge, head on over to Scraptastic to check out the details.  Thanks for visiting..x

Bella Blvd | Art Instagram...

Hi Everyone!  We are back after a long weekend camping adventure and I can't wait to scrap some of the photos that were taken!  The weather here is finally warming up but let me tell you, the nights are still freezing, especially when you go camping without extra blankets!  *grin*

Today I wanted to share with you my layout that is up on the Bella Blvd blog.  Bella has some new features planned for the month to help kick start your creativity.  Today is the Monday Morning Challenge - focus on the square. My Inspiration? The humble Instagram square...

"Art Instagram"

products used: Bella Blvd: Spring Flings & Easter Things: Mom's Bouquet; All American: Borders & Cute Cuts, United We Stand, Just Write Journaling, Alpha+Bits; Sand & Surf: Cling Stamps; Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Pickle Juice, Freestyle Banana; High Five Alpha Stickers: Black-White, Pink-Red; Sophisticates: Miniatures Card Sentiments; Ciao Chip Elements: Borders, Clouds, Essentials Asparagus& Pickle Juice; Sienna Chipboard Alphas: Pickle Juice; cs - Kaisercraft; tools - paper clip, Fancy That Dies, black pen, mist, ink.

I love Instagram for sharing my photos with family and friends and I especially love that I can share my children's artwork online without having to email each item separately, to each individual grandparent!

This layout is inspired by the Instagram process and documents my son's favourite piece of artwork to date. I have included hidden journaling beneath the main photo, but to find the story you need to follow the arrows!

The main photo flips open to reveal the journaling.  The flap works simply, by placing designer tape along the joining edge.  You could also just have an extended piece of patterned paper and fold it in half, but I wanted to use two different paper patterns.  *grin*

The "Art Instagram" label/title has been created by trimming down one of the All American: Just Write Journaling Stickers, to fit my size page. I've fussy cut the heart image from the All American: Borders & Cute Cuts patterned paper and added alpha stickers as the finishing touch.

Finally, since the focus of my story is Ethan's Solar System/Planet Earth artwork, I finished off the page by adding a die cut globe.  Yep.  I know it's not square!  LOL!  But I love that it has Australia on it and it makes the embellishment a little more personal for me.

I hope you will join us over at the Bella blog to see some more of the design team's challenge entries.  Thanks so much for visiting..x

The Scrapbook Store | Always Be You...

Hi Everyone! I'm back today to share with you another layout using my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store

"Always Be You"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Elle's Studio Serendipity, American Crafts Amy Tan; other - Elle's Studio: cutouts, Lil' Snippets favourite things; staple, mist, ink; tools - Fiskars small circle punch, Martha Stewart 1" circle punch, small circle punch, Amy Tangerine date stamp, black pen.

I really love these patterned papers from the Elle's Studio Serendipity collection.  So much so that even though it doesn't look like there are many papers here, I think I have used a little bit of every piece of patterned paper sent to me! A great way to use up those extra scraps that "I" just can't part with.  *grin*

Since my beautiful boy was picking flowers for me, I decided I wanted to use up my scraps in circle form.  A repetition of the flower he's holding in the photo.  It was as simple as choosing three different circle punches and going to work.

And you might notice that I have still got my favourite colour combination happening here.  Pink, teal, gray and yellow. yes... well, I might grow out of it soon.  *grin*... Thanks for visiting..x
