Jillibean Soup | Monochromatic layout..

Hello Friends! It has been a busy few months! But I'm back today to play catch up! LOL!

Last month over at the Jillibean Soup blog, I was challenged to create a fun monochromatic layout. Sounds fun right?! But I didn't want it to be a boring black and white/grey version. No way! My layout needed pink!

You can check out all the details over on the JSBlog. Including those easy to make clouds!

Jot Magazine | November Mood Board...

Hello Everyone! Up on the new look Jot blog today, November's inspirational mood board has been released!  It has fresh and vibrant colours, chosen by the very lovely Kim Jeffress. Have a little look-see!

These colours are so beautiful together that I immediately pulled out anything that was either yellow or pink, from my stash, and just started layering..!

"Happiness"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella Blvd, Scraptastic Club, Elle's Studio;  other - Bella Blvd stickers, enamel dots, Stampin' Up clear acetate 3x4 pocket page card; tools - foam tape.

It' s a bit had to tell with this photo, but I've used a clear acetate 3x4" pocket page card from Stampin' Up (it has the stars on it). I mounted the clear layer with foam tape and then added the butterfly (cut from my silhouette) on to it. The shadows enhance the illusion that the butterfly is floating above the actual card.

The Jot Girls really have created amazing projects this month! I hope you will come along and visit the blog for more inspiration and hopefully play along with us too! Thanks for visiting..x

Jot Magazine | April Mood Board...

Hello Friends!  Have you seen the latest Moodboard over at Jot? This month's challenge is just delightful! Created by the lovely Meghann Andrew, this Moodboard had me eager to create...

This is what I came up with..

"Best Ever"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Elle's Studio, Crate Paper, Scraptastic Club; alpha - Dear Lizzy water colour die cut words; other - Heidi Swapp: ephemera, butterfly paperclip, colorshine; gold enamel dots; rub ons; sequins, gold paint; Maggie Holmes hair clip; tools - sewing machine.

I loved the idea of having a dark navy background. From there I easily built up the layered details with gold items and paper ephemera.

Between the layers I added pop dots or foam tape.

And the title work was created by using colorshine on a watercolour word, a technique I shared here.

Be sure to enter your project this month, using the April Moodboard over at the Jot blog.  There are always cool prizes up for grabs.  Good luck.  I can't wait to see what you share...x

Scraptastic Club | Pinterest Monday...

Hi Friends!  Today I wanted to share with you a layout I created for Scraptastic Club recently.  It was for a Pinterest challenge/Moodboard that Kim Jeffress and I put together.

Plenty of fun & funky stripes!!

This is the layout I was inspired to created...

"Loving This"

products used: cs - white Kaisercraft; Scraptastic club - Either Way kit, Either Way add-on, Either Way Cut aparts, Either Way Flair Badges; other - watercolour paint, typewriter, Heidi Swapp colorshine (gold).

I wanted the stripes to go in different directions  to create a little bit of interest on my page.

I fussy cut some of the larger blooms from one of the patterned papers and threw in some spots for good measure! *grin*

But before I added all my layers to my white cardstock, I decided that I wanted a subtle hint of colour wash using my water colour paints.  For.the.first.time.ever! LOL!  I wasn't very bold with it.  In fact I was quite timid! LOL!  Maybe next time.  And I will be a little more patient with the drying time too!

I hope you get a chance to visit the wonderful team over at Scraptastic (ps - There's a DT call going out over there).  There is always plenty of inspiration from the team.  Thanks for visiting me today..x

Jillibean Soup | All Mine...

Hello Friends!  Firstly I must apologise. Regular readers of my blog know I tend to go awol during school holidays.  *grin*  There always seems so much to do and I really want to be doing fun stuff with my kids! :) Computer time is sadly neglected and therefore, so is my blog. During the Summer school holidays we have even more stuff to do than normal and at the moment with only one week left before back-to-school we are cramming in all sorts of crazy stuff. But if you will bare with me a little longer, I will get back into my crafty mojo as soon as my schedule allows.  In the meantime, I am enjoying my children being children.

Today I have something I can share.  With the recent CHA extravaganza (and completely wishing I was there even though I'd miss my family like crazy) I have been scouring the internet for any images I could find of the Jillibean Soup booth.  I was fortunate to be asked to design a layout and two cards for the booth. I got to use the recently released Valentine's collection Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup. And although I can't quite share the images here today, I can share with you another LO that was created using the same collection...

"XOXO | All Mine"
products used: cs - kraft, Kaisercraft (white); pp - Jillibean Soup (Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup/Soup Staples II); alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: Pea pod parts, chalk board, doilies, kraft baggies, twine; sequins; tools: machine stitching.

I just adore the pea pod parts (die cuts).  Isn't that cassette tape to.die.for!!! And the new chalkboard banners.. sigh... oh the possibilities! LOL!!

Be sure to check out the Jillibean Soup blog for more of the latest releases from CHA.  I for one, cannot wait to get my hands on these new collections.  Thanks for visiting...x

Jillibean Soup | Forever & Ever...

Hello Friends.  It has still been busy about these parts.  My son celebrated his eighth birthday yesterday and the heat registered 46 degrees outside and 48 degrees in the car!  A new record for this time of year!  sheesh!  Thankfully we celebrated with an early morning swim and air-conditioning at Grandma and Grandad's house!! *wink*  Today, now that the craziness has slowly settled, I'd like to share my LO that was up on the Jillibean Soup blog earlier this week.

"Forever & Ever"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup (Heart Healthy Red Bean Soup, Soup Staples); other - Jillibean Soup: stickers, die cuts; paint.

This Valentine's Day will be a breeze to scrap, as Jillibean Soup has released a fun new collection!  With Kraft based papers!!  Yay!  I wanted to highlight a few of the different pattern images on the one layout but because my style is relatively simple I reduced the clutter by creating a patchwork effect.

I am looking forward to sharing some more of my projects created with this collection.  Stay tuned as a few have been sent off to CHA!

If you would like to see what the team have been up to or to just check out some of the sneaks for CHA, head on over to Jillibean Soup and visit the blog.  Oh and by the way.. Check out the DT call that has been posted.  Good luck and thanks for visiting here today...x

The Scrapbook Store | the ART of discipline...

Hello Friends.  If you have been following my blog for some time now, you will know that my daughter has been studying dance since she was six years old.  This year marks her seventh year and she continues to have the amazing passion of spinning and twirling as if she were still six.  But she hit a hard roadblock at the beginning of the year.

Her much loved teacher, also named Leanne, needed to focus on family and returned to the United States.  We miss her dreadfully because not only was she an incredibly talented teacher, she became and still is a beautiful family friend.

The dance studio has been bought by another lovely teacher and Tahlia continues to dance and study with her new friend.. formerly a dance student of Ms Leanne's.  *grin*  Which brings me to my layout and the hash tag of starting over_2013.

"the ART of discipline"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Elle's Studio: Serendipity; alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Elle's Studio: Lil' Snippets labels, Serendipity cutouts ; Manor House flowersGreen Tara miniblooms; Greatest View badges/flair: In Style, School Rocks!, triple pearl pin, sequins, twine, mist, vellum; tools - border punch, typewriter.

My girl has worked so hard in perfecting her barre work.  She is improving in strength and flexibility every day.  I got to sneak into class one day and managed to take some photos.  This layout has been created with my July DT kit from The Scrapbook Store.  It is full of gorgeous Elle's Studio Serendipity.  I've just added the Greatest View badges/flair which are now also available from The Scrapbook Store.

The larger flowers are from Manor House.  The dark pink one has been cut down to size from one of the beautiful flower vines.  Trust me.  That was a hard choice to actually make that cut!  *grin* .

On a side note:  Tahlia now goes to dance class three times a week.  Twice a week with the dance studio, two hours each session and now every Thursday afternoon for three hours with her school performance team.  Last year she auditioned for and was successful in making the High School Dance Extension team - a maximum of thirty students.  Within this team, she recently auditioned for and again was successful in making the Junior Dance Troup (Eisteddfod performance team - open audition).  Again a team of thirty girls from grade 8 through to grade 10.  She was one of five grade 8 students.  Over 200 girls applied for the team.  I am so very proud of her and her achievements.  The goals she is setting and then marking off her list goes to prove her discipline in a tough field.

Thanks so much for visiting..x

The Scrapbook Store | ...

Happy Monday Friends.  Today I am sharing another layout created from my The Scrapbook Store DT kit.  Lots of lovely Pink Paislee Cottage Farms goodness!

"adventure"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Pink Paislee Cottage Farms; alpha - BasicGrey; other - Pink Paislee: ephemera pack, Jillibean Soup twine, glimmermist, shimmerz, toothpick; tools - silhouette portrait.

This layout is an homage to the many family day trips we take together.  We love to explore our local area.  Especially the nearby National Parks.  I have included my journaling, hidden on the lined patterned paper.  And since we are still in the month of May (and Mother's Day!) I have found a rare photo that has me in it!  LOL!! Cam and I are actually playing in a beautiful, clear mountain stream, and let me tell you!!! It was freezing!  LOL!

The Pink Paislee paper ephemera pack is quite gorgeous with all of the bits and pieces!  I love that they are so versatile.  All those extra bits from my kit will be making their way into my PL spreads!  *grin*  If you would like to see more of this collection before it is all sold out, please visit The Scrapbook Store here.  Thanks for visiting..x

The Pink Leg Warmers...

Hello Friends!  Stephanie from Bella BLVD has decided to set a little challenge over at the Bella BLVD blog today.  :) Her Friday chat is all about creating your own colour palette!  And it is really gorgeous.  Have a little look....

A few of the Bella girls have decided to play along with the challenge.  I had a little time to create yesterday and I am really happy with the result.

 "the Pink legwarmers"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella BLVD (sophisticates, Birthday Girl); alpha - Bella BLVD; other - Bella BLVD: washi tape, crochet flowers & cardstock stckers, Greatest View sequins, versacolor ink; tools - typewriter.

The colour palette literally created this page.  That's my girl.. the one with the "pink" legwarmers! lol! ... ummm.. obviously.  I am so glad this photo was sitting on the top of my "to scrap" photo pile!

I've wrapped the edges of my typed journaling with a little bit of washi to help it stand out.  I am loving this soft pink colour against the grey!

Tahlia was practising for her ballet exam and I was allowed to sneak into the studio and take a few photos.  *grin*  Gotta love her ballet teacher for encouraging me to come in and do this at any opportunity..x

So head on over to the Bella Blog (if you haven't already), for some fun and more inspiration from the fabulous DT.

Thank you for visiting..x
