Pebbles Inc | Guest Designer...

Hey Everyone! In July, I was asked to rejoin the Pebbles Inc blog as a guest designer! Of course I jumped at the chance to play along with my Pebbles friends. I was sent the new Oh Summertime! collection and it is simply divine!!!

I created three fun summer style layouts, one of which I will share with you today!

It's a special treat to get ice-cream for breakfast in our family, but it seems to have become a birthday tradition. Especially if your birthday is in January (our Australian Summer!).

Each element on the page was created using patterned paper. I love the chevron pattern to create a more masculine background out of these superb colours.

And the ephemera! Honestly, you just have to check it out for yourself. Visit the Pebbles blog here for more details.

Thanks for visiting..x

Jot Magazine | November Mood Board...

Hello Everyone! Up on the new look Jot blog today, November's inspirational mood board has been released!  It has fresh and vibrant colours, chosen by the very lovely Kim Jeffress. Have a little look-see!

These colours are so beautiful together that I immediately pulled out anything that was either yellow or pink, from my stash, and just started layering..!

"Happiness"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella Blvd, Scraptastic Club, Elle's Studio;  other - Bella Blvd stickers, enamel dots, Stampin' Up clear acetate 3x4 pocket page card; tools - foam tape.

It' s a bit had to tell with this photo, but I've used a clear acetate 3x4" pocket page card from Stampin' Up (it has the stars on it). I mounted the clear layer with foam tape and then added the butterfly (cut from my silhouette) on to it. The shadows enhance the illusion that the butterfly is floating above the actual card.

The Jot Girls really have created amazing projects this month! I hope you will come along and visit the blog for more inspiration and hopefully play along with us too! Thanks for visiting..x

JOT Magazine | March Mood Board...

Hello Friends!! Up on the Jot Magazine blog today, the Jot Girls are sharing how the March Mood Board inspired us to create some fun projects. Check out the board here:

Here's what I created..

"Play"

products used: cs - American Crafts, Bo Bunny; pp - Pebbles, Jillibean Soup; alpha - MFT alphabet dies; other - Dear Lizzy ephemera, Jillibean Soup soup label, studio calico wood heart veneer, enamel dots, paper clip, vellum sentiment, Heidi Grace sticker, October Afternoon mist, Kaisercraft rub-ons; tools - silhouette portrait, Scaptastic Club clear stamps, small cloud punch.

I created the 3x4 card using my Silhouette Portrait and a favourite nursery rhyme.  From there I simply layered my colour matched products and shared my story with hidden journaling.

----quick tutorial-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To create your own nursery rhyme cut file, open a new file in Silhouette and using the rounded corner rectangle, create a shape at 3" wide x 4" high. This forms your background/base card.

Click on the text icon and type in your selected phrase.  I created a different text box for each line of text.  This allowed me to resize and alter the spacing between the words.  I also used the Aharoni font. Once each line of the nursery rhyme is sized to your satisfaction, hold the 'shift' key and select the entire cut file. You can now centre the phrase inside the box.

Hold the 'shift' key and select the entire cut file once again and then group all the elements together by right clicking the mouse.

Now you can send the file to your silhouette to be cut out.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you get to play along over at Jot for your chance to win an awesome prize from 'APOCD'.  Good luck...x

Bella Blvd | Project Life...

Hi Everyone!  Just wanted to share a PL spread created for Bella Blvd.  Week 27 | June 30 - July 6.

Week 27 was a very busy week for my family. I had a high volume of photos to include plus several significant events to record! Bella Blvd | Project Life...

Hi Everyone!  Today I am sharing my Project Life spread created for Bella Blvd.  This week I am covering "Week 13" and so far, so good, I am up to date with my album for 2014!! yay!

"Week 13"

products used: pp - Bella Blvd (Family Forever, Lucky Starz); alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: stickers, candid cards, paper pieces, crochet hearts, flags, designer tape; tools - machine stitching, date stamp, typewriter.

My title pocket was created by fussy cutting some of the awesome inspiration words (reverse side of Lucky Starz - Surf N Turf) and then stitched down onto a Family Forever Candid Card.  The Candid Cards are perfect for PL and they certainly make the process of creating much faster!

On the second page of my spread I've created a secret journaling folder and an extra place to keep special memories.

The hidden journaling was created using the "you is kind..." card (3"x4") from Lucky Starz, trimmed and then hinged to a larger Candid Card (4"x6") from the same collection with designer tape. The back of the hinged card is then covered with a journaling card, trimmed to the same size. The rest of the pocket card is then embellished as desired.

I just adore this self portrait drawn by my youngest!  And he used the perfect colours too! LOL!  I love it when a plan comes together! *grin*

If you would like to see some more details, please head on over to Bella Blvd.  Thanks for visiting...x

ps - Bella Blvd is about to have its 2014 Warehouse Box Sale!!!  If you would LOVE to get your hands on some gorgeous product, visit here!!!

Sassy Scrappers | Project Life Week One...

Hello Friends.  *grin* or maybe that should be a *bashful grin* because I know how terrible I've been at blogging over the school holidays. But hopefully now that my three older children are back at school (for the second week), I can finally find my routine again.  May I repeat...Hopefully.

I have some wonderful news to share today.  Recently I was asked if I'd like to join the team over at Sassy Scrappers.  My role would be to play with Project Life products, create gorgeous pocket pages and record my family's journey along the way.  How could I refuse! LOL.  And now, I no longer have an excuse not to finish that spread from week... whatever... *grin*  I'm excited and very honoured that Olga has faith in me to pull this off.  I can't wait to share my PL spreads with you (and so far five weeks into the year, I. Am. Up. To. Date!!!)

Up on the Sassy Scrappers blog today I am sharing my first post and Week One spread.  I'd be ever so pleased if you could take the time to visit and check it out.

There are more details and close ups shared, along with my thought process and weekly tips. I really can't wait to share this journey with you.  My excitement is close to bubbling over!  (Or is that because I'm back at the keyboard blogging again?) Either way, I'm glad you've popped in to say hi today.  Thanks so much for visiting...x
