Bella Blvd | Awesome...

Hello Friends.  I am back today to share with you my "mistake" layout!  LOL *grin*  This was a layout I created for last month's Bella Blvd colour challenge.  My mistake was looking at the mood board via my iPhone! yep.  you guessed it.  wrong colours... sigh!

"Awesome!"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd; alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: designer tapes; brads, toothpicks; tools - circle punch.

When I went to upload my layout on my desktop and send it to Laura, well.. wouldn't you know it.  It looked nothing like the mood board/colour challenge!  LOL!

On the up side however, I was ready with a layout for July.  *grin*..

I had these sweet photos of my boy sitting on my desk. And Cameron has the cutest saying at the moment.  All done in a sing-song voice.  Check out the story here.  So.. of course I just had to document it.

I've continued with the Autumnal theme (or so I thought at the time) with a trail of falling flowers.  There's quite a mix of Bella Blvd patterned paper collections here too.  Don't you just love the way each collection can be used with the other?  :)  Thanks for visiting..x

Jillibean Soup | Chalk...

Hello Friends! How is everyone today?  I just wanted to pop in briefly to share my layout that is up on the Jillibean Soup blog today.

Jillibean Soup | Blog Hop & Giveaway!!

Hello and welcome Friends to the Jillibean Soup Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from Laurel's amazing blog.

Today we are sharing the new collection released by Jillibean Soup - Happy Camper Stew.  It has so many cute elements in it you won't be able to stop yourself from falling in love.  And we have a fabulous giveaway for you to win, just by participating and visiting the Design Team's blogs.  I hope you have a great time.

If you have stumbled onto my blog and would like to start at the beginning, here is the full list of camping stops..

Leanne Allinson    <<<

I think this collection is going to be one of my all. time. favourites!  A big call right? But as a family we go camping all the time and so I have big plans for this fabulous new line!  *grin*  Here is what I have created so far..

"Cobb & Co"
Supplies:
Jillibean Soup
Patterned Paper: Happy Camper Stew/1 part camping gear, 2 parts adventure, 4 parts great outdoors, bite size bits, scores of smores, Coordinating Label Stickers; Fresh Vegetable Soup/chicken base; Chilled Cucumber Soup/Coordinating Shape Stickers;
Alphabeans: whipped white
Kraft tag: large

other - cardstock, Greatest View flair; tools - silhouette portrait, type writer.

I knew I wanted to use the map patterned paper (4 parts great outdoors) as a background to my page, as soon as I saw it.  One of our favourite places to go camping has a similar layout with plenty of bushland and hidden walking tracks for us to explore.  I also didn't want to hide all of the gorgeous detail on this sheet of paper, so I have created a mini file folder to hide my journaling below the photo.

The next stop on this blog hop is the fabulously talented Melanie Blackburn.  Remember to leave a comment on the Jillibean Soup blog for your chance to win a prize!  Good luck.  And thanks for visiting..x

School Holiday paper play | bookmark tutorial...

Hello Everyone.  You may have guessed by my short posts and lack of commenting lately, that we are in the middle of a two week school holiday break.  And the weather is very wet and dreary, so what better way to spend the day than to play with a little bit of paper.  *grin*

The kids have been reading a lot of books lately and Liam especially has been asking  me to make him a simple bookmark.  Well, to keep him busy (and creative) I told him, he could make his own bookmark! Enter... Pinterest!

"Liam's Dragon - aged 10"

After a little bit of searching, we chose a fun origami style bookmark, created from a sheet of 6in x 6in patterned paper.  Perfect!  I certainly have a few 6in x 6in paper pads stashed away and they need to be used!

Here is the origami folding method we used..

The next step is to insert a 2.75in square inside the open fold to create the mouth.  Finish off the bookmark by adding eyes (two different sized circle punches), teeth and tongues.  I let the kids fold and glue all of their monsters and dragons together.  That is how easy this tutorial is!

Once dry, they slip straight over the book page ready for the kids to devour more of the written word! *wink*

They are really quite fun and kind of cute to look at! Check them out...

"Cameron's Monster - aged 3"

"Ethan's Lizard - aged 7"

What creative things do you like to make with kids? My boys really love to "scrapbook"! LOL! Thanks for visiting...x
