Scraptastic Club | Pinterest Inspiration...

Hello Friends!  I'm just popping in to share with you a little Pinterest Inspiration over at the Scraptastic Club blog today.  I've had the pleasure of playing with this month's The Girl kit and I put together a combination of images that caught my eye on Pinterest to create this fun (and very glittery) mood board!

Yes. I did mention I chose The Girl kit right? Well, I just wanted to also share that feminine kits don't always mean feminine layouts!  I was completely inspired by the colours of the mood board and created a layout with my youngest son in mind!

"The 2 of Us"

products used: Scraptastic Club Kit - The Girl; Add-on - The Girl; Clear Stamps - We Will Rock You; other - skewer, white cardstock; tools - machine stitching, navy ink, gold ink.

The navy ombre patterned paper was the perfect starting point for my 8.5"x11" layout, but I continued the ombre theme, subtly with the navy and gold stamped banner from the We Will Rock You clear stamps.

The gold glitter from the mood board was another inspiration point for my layout.  Instead of using the bows in a traditional manner, I have emphasised the fun my son and I have at home together by using it as a clownish bow tie.

I completed my layout with touches of sea foam coloured embellishments, gold glitter rub-ons and plenty of layers with foam dots to create depth and dimension.  All elements found in and inspired by the mood board shared above.

If you would like to see more inspiration created from the Moodboard, please head on over to Scraptastic and play along.  Thanks for visiting...x

Bella Blvd | Coffee Date...

Hello Friends!!  Happy Valentine's Day!!  I hope this wonderful Friday puts you in the mood to grab someone close to you and give them a great big hug!  Today I have a 'love' inspired layout to share with you.  Over at Bella Blvd we have been challenged with a new Pinterest image to glean inspiration from...

"Coffee Date"
products used: pp - Bella Blvd (Love and Marriage/Freestyle Sophisticates); alphas - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: crochet hearts, stickers, designer tape; Kaisercraft pearls, Mister Huey's mist, vellum; tools - typewriter, hand stitching, silhouette portrait.

At first glance my layout doesn't really resemble the Pinterest image but I have taken inspiration from a number areas!  *grin*  The colour of the back ground, the heart banners, the hearts(!), the 'love' arrangement and even a little bit of the ombre, have all been used.  :)

I knew, after seeing this Pinterest image for the first time, that I wanted to use the crochet hearts.  They add such a lovely texture to the page.  I've teamed them up with some silhouette cut hearts and hand stitched them to the layout.

If you would like to see what the other designers have created with this image, please head on over to the Bella blog.  And while you are there, don't forget to sign up for the Bella Buzz newsletter - due out later today!

And as an update for everyone who just. can't. wait. to get their hands on the new CHA collections.....

Thanks so much for visiting...x

Bella Blvd | Pinterest Inspiration..

Hello Friends.  I am doing a little scrapbook house keeping today and catching up with some Bella Blvd.

This month I was challenged to use an image of leaves, as a source of Pinspiration for my layout.

I fell in love with the ombre colours and of course had to use leaves on my page as well.  I mixed it up with a selection Bella collections, all of which work and coordinate so well together...

 "Happy Camper"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Bella Blvd; alpha - Bella Blvd; other - Bella Blvd: chipboard, stickers; studio calico mist; tools - Fancy That Dies (leaves), typewriter.

One of my boys' favourite activities when camping, is to run through piles of leaves as they go crashing through the bush.  This always worries me though, because of the high number of deadly snakes and spiders (wherever we go camping) that could be lurking beneath the leaf litter!  My only consolation is that these boys they make so.much.noise. that any creature, deadly or otherwise, will disappear well in advance of my boys getting near them!  Fingers crossed anyway!

If you would like to see how some of the other DT members were inspired by this same image, please visit Bella Blvd here.  Thanks so much for visiting ..x

While I am doing some house keeping, I thought I would share this awesome free printable created by Stephanie,  owner & creator of Bella Blvd.

She had such a huge response to her first Thanks Giving giveaway in 2011, that she wanted to do it all again, with an updated version!  Stay tuned to her blog in the coming days, because you will be able to download the new version for FREE.  Check out the 2011 version here.  It really is super cute!

Life.Paper.Scrapbook | September Sketch...

Hello Friends.  Today I can share my layout created for the September Sketch over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook.  It suggests a lot of layers beneath those photos and I was willing to accommodate! :)  But I did mix it up a little by rotating the sketch to suit my photo.

"Epic"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Teresa Collins (Memorabilia); Greatest View - woodgrain style badge/flair, chevron ribbon, gold thread, mini doilies; other - Teresa Collins: sequins, borders, cardstock stickers; WOW stencil hearts; Studio Calico: Mr Huey's Calico Shine, Glimmermist: sunflower; staples; tools - typewriter.

The patterned papers used to create this layout are from the new Teresa Collins collection Memorabilia.   They are a part of my September DT Kit for The Scrapbook Store.  All products can be found here.

I've also had a chance to play with the gorgeous WOW Alta Matz stencils: hearts in a row.  They are a lot thicker than most stencils or templates and lay on the cardstock quite flat.  No need to tape/adhere the stencil down.  I used Mr Huey's calico shine to create almost invisible hearts on the white cardstock and while it was still wet, quickly sprayed a yellow glimmermist directly over the white calico shine.  It created these speckled, ombre hearts.

This sketch was such an inspiration point that I loved putting together this layout.  If you would like to play along, (and I would love to see your interpretation) ...here are the details...
