Jillibean Soup | Make It Merry...

Hi Everyone!  Today I am sharing a layout created with Jillibean Soup's latest Christmas collection, Holly Berry Borscht.
"Make It Merry!"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup (Holly Berry Borscht); other - Jillibean Soup: Holly Berry Borscht pea pod parts, wood veneers; toothpick, embroidery floss, black paint; tools - machine stitching.
The super simple little triangular Christmas trees were cut from multiple Holly Berry Borscht patterned papers.  I've also included hidden journaling on the "hohoho" file card (Pea Pod Part).

The hand stitched lines across the trees add an extra touch of dimension and texture, without overwhelming the rest of the page.

Jillibean Soup | Thankful...

Hello Everyone!  I wanted to share with you today, a layout created for Jillibean Soup.  It's been a busy month during November and I've got an even busier month starting yesterday! So I took a moment to be thankful.  Thankful indeed, that these two boys got to play a glorious season of hockey and in their first season became members of the champion team.

"Thankful

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup (Holly Berry Borscht, Cool as a Cucumber); alpha - Mix the Media stencil; other - Jillibean Soup: wood sprinkles, woodgrain stampables, note card, label sticker, wood veneer stars; white thread, yellow embroidery floss; tools - water colour paint, machine stitching.

I played around with watercolours this month.  The title and small die cut leaves were cut from normal cardstock after the water colours were applied. The title was traced from the Jillibean Soup Mix the Media "Thankful" stencil. Before I trimmed around the title, I hand stitched with coordinating embroidery floss.

The bright pops of orange against the wood plank patterned paper background really help highlight the texture on both the patterned paper and the die cut leaves.

The rest of the layout has layers of woodgrain, on woodgrain.  In the baggie I have included hidden journaling and the frame helps draw the eye to the collection of trinkets in the lower corner.

The larger leaves were traced from ones found in my garden and then carefully cut with a sharp knife.  I certainly had fun playing with a few simple techniques and no doubt will be trying them again sometime soon.  Thanks for visiting today...x

Jillibean Soup | Cool as a Cucumber..

Hello Friends!  Today I am sharing a LO I created for Jillibean Soup and their new, absolutely fabulous collection, Cool as a Cucumber Soup!  *swoon*  I am so in love with this paper line! LOL!!

"Doughnuts"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup Beanboards; other - Jillibean Soup: label sticker, peapod parts; embroidery thread, staple; tools: typewriter.

I'm not sure what it was that urged me to create this LO.  I knew I wanted to document my eldest son's eating habits... because there was a time when it was so hard to get him to eat anything much at all.  And now.. at age 11(!) I can't seem to fill him up! Doughnuts, I suppose, are usually a good incentive to eat food, right?! LOL!

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you will find time to check out the DT creations over at Jillibean sometime soon...x

Jillibean Soup | designer challenge...

Hello Friends! Just wanted to share with you the latest designer challenge the Jillibean Soup DT were issued for the month of July! Triangles!!

"Dashing & Daring"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup (Cool as a Cucumber); alpha - Jillibean Soup; other - Jillibean Soup: peapod parts; tools - machine stitching, typewriter, foam tape.

I chose to create a LO with rather large triangles and add texture to them with machine stitching...

The peapod parts, such as this adorable scooter(!!!!), add to the playfulness of the page.

I am loving Jillibean's new Cool as a Cucumber collection!  Have you been playing with it yet? Thanks for visiting..x

Jillibean Soup | Make it Happen...

Hi Everyone!  Just popping in here very briefly to share with you a card that I created using Jillibean Soup.  Up on the blog today it looks like the designers all coordinated our products!  *grin*

I wanted to make a masculine birthday card.  I always struggle to create this type of card and more often than not I have to go out and buy one because my attempts usually end up being too girly!

"Make it Happen"

products used: cs - kraft, Kaisercraft; pp - Jillibean Soup (Sightseeing Stew/Geocache + Soup Staples II/orange salt); alpha - alphabeans; other - Jillibean Soup: soup labels; mist; tools - machine stitching.

The number "11" was created using the Roasted Red Alphabeans adhered to kraft cardstock.  I then peeled the top layer of the 'red' off to get the white numbers.

A couple of splashes of colorshine mist onto white cardstock and I'm pretty much done.  And the 3D stars are my little touch of whimsy! LOL!

The Scrapbook Store | 100 minutes...

Hello Friends.  Amid my crazy 'Week In The Life' challenge this week I have a scrappy share for you today.  This is my final DT layout for The Scrapbook Store's October kit.  Next month I have something really exciting to share with you all.  I am putting together a December Daily album which you can follow along with over on The Scrapbook Store's blog.  Check out these gorgeous papers and embellishments I will be working with!!!

This is a limited edition kit and you need to pre-order by Thursday 31st October, if you are interested in playing along with me.  More details can be found here

Meanwhile, I've been playing with Carta Bella Rough & Tumble again.  I wanted to document Cam's current favourite saying and yes, he does have plenty at the moment, but this one is so cute.  *grin*

"100 minutes"

products used: cs - Kaisercraft; pp - Carta Bella Rough & Tumble; alpha - Bella Blvd, Jillibean Soup; other - Carta Bella: cardstock stickers, Echo Park: decorative brads, mist; tools - machine stitching, black pen, foam tape.

I love this.  He is trying to grasp the concept of time.  100 is such. big. number.  Especially for a four year old! LOL!! Everything is 100 toy or 100 hungry or 100 food.  But 100 minutes is my favourite because even if I ask him (or anyone) to wait for 'just a moment' suddenly he claims 'But that is 100 minutes!!!' Of course it works in the opposite manner as well.  'That will happen tomorrow Cam.' 'But Mum! That is 100 minutes!!' LOL!  *grin*  I just can't win.

As a side note, I created my own pie chart embellishments on this page.  I just wanted a little something to add but nothing too distracting.  I also need to add just a small touch of yellow to complete my visual triangle.  And speaking of shapes.. I think I've added every kind of basic shape you can think of, to this one layout! *grin*.

Thanks for visiting today and don't forget to check out the December Daily kit over at The Scrapbook Store..x
