Hello Everyone!! Today I want to share my layout up on the Hampton Art blog. It has a cute little story to go along with it, all about my son's journey into bike riding. *grin* And maybe, the title of this particular layout, gives you an insight into the story before you even read my journaling!
"Look Out For That Tree!"
products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup; alpha - Jillibean Soup; Stamps - Jillibean Soup | Irish Farm House Soup large (JB0012), Jillibean Soup | Chilled Cucumber Small set 2 (JB0042), Echo Park | Oh Snap (SC0529); other - ink: VersaMark Dazzle (Champagne), Archival Ink (sepia), Close To My Heart (crème brulee); embellishments: Jillibean Soup | Grandma's Lima Bean Soup coordinating cardstock stickers, Bean Stalks, Kraft tags; foam tape; tools - typewriter.
I absolutely fell in love with the bicycle clear cling stamp in the Jillibean Soup | Irish Farm House Soup large stamp set (JB0012) and knew that I wanted to use it on a layout to document Ethan's bike riding journey. When he was learning to ride his bike, we took him to a very open space, so he could learn without fear of crashing into something. Unfortunately he found every tree in the area and kept riding directly into them. No matter what we tried to do to help him over-come his compulsion to aim for trees, he still couldn't avoid them!
When I created this layout I really wanted the bike stamp to become a main feature. I stamped the image with VersaMark to create a watermark look onto the kraft tag. I then stamped a second image of the bike with a slightly darker ink (sepia) onto a second tag and fussy cut around it. Using foam tape, I've layered the fussy cut bicycle onto the same stamped image to make it pop on the page.
I hope I have shared some inspiration here today and I'll sign off by asking the question: "Have you ever created a layout or card, after being inspired directly by an image of a product?" .. *grin* I am looking forward to finding out what examples you share. Thanks for visiting...x

love this and the funny story behind it!
Such a cute page and sweet memory of your son! Love how you replicated the story with the little fussy cut trees and bicycle stamp!
How pewcious! Love how you used the bike stamp, one of my fave ways I've seen it used. Stunning layout!!
This is totally cute and sweet!!! :D
Love this! Every single time you get me with how you use colour. You're just amazing! And you better believe I'm inspired by new products all the time. Quite often it will trigger an idea for a layout, or at least which photos to use with it.

Yes your title sort of makes me cringe even before I read about your sons bike riding adventures.. ouch... love the layout though, and that bike is a perfect little feature too..as well as the cute trees...and so many things influence me that I often have this mish mash of thoughts and ideas swirling around in my head when I see a new paper range or set of embellies... just can't think of a specific one right now!!
I agree you sun up the top certainly sets a fabulous tone for this layout, awesome Leanne!
Utterly charming! I just love your title and those little trees to tie it all in. Thank goodness for helmets!
Just another fantastic color palette, Leanne, and I love the title and the versamark/kraft layering!
Gosh! This layout is so beautiful! I especially love the stamped bike! Thanks for sharing the story behind the picture. Before I had Abby, I used to create a card right away after being inspired by new products. Now I hardly have the time to do so.
Oh dear! LOL I think my boy would be the same ;). This is absolutely stunning Leanne. Your colour palette is particularly fabulous. Love it!
