Scrapboxx create...

I can share something!!! LOL!! The Scrapboxx newsletter has been released and I got to play with the Book of You kit. The month's challenge was to create a layout about "Family Connections".

This is what I came up with............................................................waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in March! LOL!!
{Family}

A simple little layout with one of my favourite photos this year. Thanks Mum for taking this one.

I also created this one...

{Best Buddies}

Liam and Ethan are so alike! Ethan is practically a mini Liam. And Liam might also be classed as a mini me. So we have a whole personality/characteristic production line happening here! Cam might luck out yet! We are yet to see! hee hee...

So there we go. I'm off to keep working on deadlines, but there is plenty more to come. Jane is the new owner at the Boxx and we have a few newsletters that are backlogged, and she is busy working on to get up to date! So I can't wait to share what I've had sitting here for a little while now.....x

Bad Blogger...

Yes I know, I've sort of fallen off the face of the earth! LOL! And I have since neglected this little blog. Once I find my feet again, I'm sure things will get back to there regular programming! hee hee...

This week, apart from being a blur, has had me tackling a mountain of folding! Not just one or two baskets but I am totally convinced that the Glass House Mountains have moved further south. It is the only explanation I have. Surely my kids could not possibly go through THAT many clothes???

Anyway, we have also had a trip to the dentist. Ethan's first time. He was fantastic and the Dentist was so lovely and made him feel really comfortable. I like that. He opened his mouth wide, got to wear some fancy sunglasses and received "Spotty" for being so good.

So very cute. This little spider hangs down over his bed now (he sleeps on the bottom of bunk beds).

We have had a mix of weather here too this week. Some days have been filled with glorious winter sunshine...and others, like today, make life difficult when I'm trying to finish off the laundry. Blah! Rainy weather....

Anyway, as a side note, if you have ever wondered what my little scrap space looks like, head on over to Kaisercraft today. Don't get too excited though! hee hee... It's not WOW! like some of the other dt's. But it's my corner and I like to crawl into it every now and then. :D

Update & Create...

Wow! It's been a while. But it has been super crazy in between! LOL!! I'll start with the update of Tahlia and her arm... :(

She has a rare fracture. The Fracture Clinic doctor said it wasn't often, that they see this type of injury, which must be saying something since that's the whole premise for the clinic. Looking at broken bones!

She has managed to crush a blood vessel in her wrist (along with causing a fracture on one of the bones) and this has led to part of the bone dying. She needs to be aware that this injury is likely to lead to an arthritic condition, not always, but sometimes. Hopefully with the wrist being set, the blood vessel will heal with little problem.

We had a three hour wait at the clinic. So crazy since we only saw the doctor for a fraction of a second! ha! I think the best part of the whole ordeal, (apart from walking out the door), was Tahlia choosing the colour of the cast she was going to wear. She wasn't making this decision lightly! LOL! She had to consider what colours would co-ordinate with most of her wardrobe! Her school uniform is navy blue and green. Her everyday clothes have a lot of browns, creams, reds and blacks.... And this is what colour she chose....

That's right! A very pretty pink! LOL! I had to get this shot before all the signatures from friends, parents and teachers made it on there! You should see it now! LOL!!

Anyway, onto some scrapping news. This week I have set the challenge at The Boxx. After a successful Cyber Crop I am not sure how many takers I will have! hee hee... I think there will be a few who are a little bit scrapped out at the moment!

You can find the details here:

{Sand Slide}

Also this week, Challenge #52 is up at Inspired Blueprints.

This is what I created:

{Bug Boy}

Ethan is a huge fan of collecting all sorts of creepy crawlies at the moment! He really does enjoy being outside. As long as he doesn't pick up anything too dangerous, I'm okay with him playing!!

And lastly, I've created this fun project for Kaisercraft.

She's such a sweet little chipboard doll that can be used in any matter of ways! I have glued her to a door hanger. She now resides on Tahlia's door to her room. I created and added the lantern to suggest the idea of a night light and follow through with the Chinese dress up theme.

I love the beautiful range of papers in the new LUSH collection.

Well, that must be it for now. Thanks for visiting and please feel free to leave a comment...x

Just because...

This post is "just because" I wanted to finish the series of photos I have been taking of Cameron since he was two weeks old.

I have generally posted some photos from the shoot every month, with a little milestone update. With his 1st birthday a week ago, I thought I would share the photo process all over again.

{2 weeks}
{1 month}
{2 months}
{3 months}
{4months}
{5months}{6 months}
Sadly, the seventh month, must have been crazy, because I didn't have a photo shoot with him in February.

{8 months}
{9 months}{10 months}
{11 months}
{12 months}
I'm glad I managed to do this with Cam. I had never really thought about this sort of photo record with the other three kids.

At 1 year of age, Cameron loves to be outdoors banging on the screen door to let everyone know what he wants. He doesn't always get his way. He also loves climbing all over his brothers and sister when they are lying on the floor and generally being involved in everything.

He still enjoys his food and often will eat what we are eating. He has stood momentarily by himself, but is still too "chicken" to try to walk without assistance. Cruising on the furniture is no hassle.

My constant phrase at the moment (when chasing him out of the kitchen) is.. "No babies in the cupboards!" LOL!! If I'm not careful enough, he is in there in a flash and trying to drink from the glasses!

As soon as he hears music, he starts to dance. Holding his two hands together in a grasp and moving them up and down! So cute! He often breaks out into song too.

He has four teeth - 2 up and 2 down - with more currently cutting. And he is in dire need of a second haircut!!

High fives are the latest craze and he seems more comfortable with the men, in our circle of friends, than the women. With the ladies, he really loves to play shy. He closes his eyes really tight and pretends they are not there!

Well, that's mostly it. Thanks for sticking with me this far. Especially if you are not family!! LOL!

A good sign right! :)

This was my layout:

{LOST}

I just had to document my panic when Ethan went missing....I am sure scrapbooking is very therapeutic for this sort of thing!!!

I have also been involved in a scrap whisper over at the Boxx... The lovely Elise organized it and this was my take on the previous layout in the whisper...

Sorry, Out for
Publication!!!

Phew!...

What a week! Can I just say, right here, right now.... I really don't think this week could be any more eventful.... (well, there is at least one more day left in this week, so I had better "speak" softly!)

Saturday, July 3: Mark and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We celebrated by spending the day cleaning the beach from the car! hee hee...Yes, it took quite a while to return it to its proper place!! LOL...

Sunday, July 4: We made a day of it and travelled by train into the city, (with our camping family), to visit the Museum, Science Center, South Bank and take a ride on the ferry.

It was a fantastic day except for when Ethan stepped out of an elevator without us, and became lost in a very large crowd. The doors of the elevator had closed behind him while we were still in it. It was so ridiculously busy, that he just stepped out with a group of people in the crush. The doors closed and I couldn't get to him! I was in a total panic. I think I will mark it off as one of the most scariest moments in my life - to date.

Monday, July 5: On this day, we cleaned the beach off the camper trailer (another big job) and prepared for a birthday...

Tuesday, July 6: Cameron celebrated his 1st birthday!! He had a wonderful day, enjoying many, many treats!! :D

Wednesday, July 7: Tahlia trips over one of the birthday balloons, lying on the floor from the previous evening and hurts her wrist. Mark takes her to the hospital for x-rays and doctor's opinion.

There is no fracture detected but her wrist and thumb are placed in a back slab (a half cast and a bandage) to immobilise it, as a crack can develop up to 2 weeks later. A trip is organized to go to the plaster clinic (1hour away) for the following day. Miss T is secretly thrilled at the idea of having a cast and is planning what colour she would like.

Thursday, July 8: Dropped the older two boys off at Grandma's and we take Tahlia to the plaster/fracture clinic. After a long-ish wait, the doctor looks at her x-ray and sees a definite fracture. The doctor suggests leaving the back slab on, instead of applying a lighter fiberglass cast, as Tahlia will need further x-rays in a week's time. This saves having one put on then having it removed for the x-rays next week and then having it put back on again. We are sent to the main office to re-make an appointment for next week and told there are none available! Still waiting on a phone call from the hospital......

She is okay, although it is now dawning on her, how much of a hindrance this cast will be. Especially since she is right-handed ...(guess which hand she put out to break her fall?..)!

Friday, July 9: Having been very pre-occupied with family matters, I have neglected to watch/read/hear any local news. Today we find out that there is a gun man on the loose in our area. He is armed, dangerous and several streets have already been in lock down.

On top of all this! I have tried to squirrel in my first post for Kaisercraft (OMGosh!! You should see the boxes that have arrived on my doorstep!) and totally re-organize myself to be more efficient for when we have weeks like this! hee hee...

As a side note: I am not complaining but rather documenting a week in our lives! A crazy week however, which I'm sure will take a while to top!!

Thanks for visiting the drama that is our life! LOL!!

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Oh no!...

It seems we don't need to have "down" time in this house hold... We need to keep things alive and happening... We need to involve a trip to the hospital, a plaster cast and a possible fracture, just to keep things interesting.....Poor Tahlia. I will post more tomorrow. :(

Create...

Do you know, when it rains... It pours!! (In a good way, LOL!!) After holding out for so long and only giving little sneaky peeks! hee hee... I've got another layout to share...

Sketch #51 is up over at Inspired Blueprints.

I've turned mine on it's side so I could use more profile style photos. I have to admit that I struggled with this one a little, until I found my style in the sketch. That's the great thing about sketches, you can interpret them as much or as little as you like. It all depends on your own style!!

{The Next Step}
Materials Used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Kaisercraft; alpha - pink paislee, scenic route ; other - martha stewart butterfly punch, kaisercraft die cut elements, machine stitching, ribbon, mini tag, office supple stamps, versacolor ink, staples, We R Memory Keepers glitter lace.

I am really into these blue/brown/orange colour combos at the moment. Not sure why. But I will eventually move on! LOL!!

I also wanted to share this lovely award given to me by my friend Christine.

Here are the rules that go with it: 1. Put the Swap Sisters Bonny Blog Award on my blog.2. Share 5 things about myself.3. Pass the award onto 5 other Bonny Blogs.4. Create...

Wow! We are up and running at Kaisercraft.... Today is sketch day and this is my layout based on the Kaisercraft sketch (found in the free workshop magazine).

{The Last}

I wanted to add "newborn" to the title (as these photo's were taken almost 12 months ago!!!) but unfortunately, I ran out of time before we went to the beach.

Go and check out what the Kirsty and Lesley have created with the same sketch. They are sooo clever!

We are back!...

Sorry about that! Among all the recent excitement, I forgot to blog that we were going away for a week of beach camping. But we are now home again and ready to return to everyday living.... :) Just as soon as we return our own private beach that seems to have come home with us!

This is what we have been up to....

...a walk to the local lighthouse...

It was a scenic walk but it was a little steep at times...

The ocean was so beautiful and the colours can barely be described...

We also spent some time doing this...

...and this...
...and this...

...and we spent some time here...

...and definitely here...

We are so lucky to have all this on our back door step...xx
