Cupcake party...

Wow! What a morning! Today was the day we organised for Tahlia to celebrate her 10th birthday with school friends... Loud, enthusiastic and wonderful friends!!

Ten is a big deal! Excitement for her....very scary for me (to think that a decade has passed so quickly!) So we came up with the idea to invite five of her nearest and dearest friends to help her celebrate.....by creating and decorating their own cupcakes! Yikes!!! Sugar overload! LOL!

I was up later than usual last night...adding some finishing touches so she could wake up to a surprise this morning. The thing is, as my my boys are *extremely* early wakers.... I had to be up too, just so they wouldn't spoil her fun! (They like to do that in their excitement. But of course what little brother wouldn't do this! hee hee)...

Pom poms, streamers and even a handmade fabric banner were added to the walls and ceiling (fan)! Late night and early morning was worth it just to see Tahlia's expression! tee hee... Pure delight.

When the guests arrived, they had a blast decorating their carefully selected "blank" cupcake. As you can see, they did a beautiful job in creating their edible art! LOL!!

Again, I might re-mention the sugar content was pretty high!! And some of those "blank" cupcakes end up with a lot of product crammed onto their tops!

She received some wonderful gifts and I hope the girls all had a great time. In fact, there was talk of future birthday parties with themes such as cookie decorating and chocolate feasting, from the guests! Maybe a trend has started! (And I hope their mothers will forgive me!)

Sneak Peek!...

Wow! What a scrappy week! I have been busy non-stop but..... I can't share with you just at the moment. What I can do is show you some sneaky peeks!! Shhh! Don't tell anyone! LOL!

At The Boxx this month, there's an Art challenge where we interpret a piece of art from a particular era and put it into a scrapbook layout. This month is all about Expressionism.

I chose to interpret this piece of art by Kandinsky:I took the bold colours and shapes, and created this...

You will be able to see the full layout in the upcoming newsletter.

Also at The Boxx, in this month's Book of You (BOY) kit we are focusing on "family connections". I've documented Liam and Ethan's brotherly bond...

There are some gorgeous papers in this kit!!

There have been a few more layouts created...including the projects created for the Team Support position at Kim Archer's @home site.

Unfortunately I didn't get a position. But the two amazing and talented ladies who did (way to go Sheree!), were stiff competition and I at least can be proud to have made it to the final four! I can't wait to be a part of the Mother's Day class with the little OTP project I created...

Just a sneak remember!!! Thanks for visiting..x

Create...

Yay! I'm back from the brink of certain "hay fever" death!! LOL! I know it eventually goes away after some decent sleep....but with a teething bubba in the house, sleep apparently isn't a priority for some! LOL!

The next Journal Challenge has been posted. We have to journal onto something that is not paper or cardstock... You know, something a little bit different. I went with masking tape. I don't know why I haven't done this before! It is really quick and easy.

The jounalling is directly from the post below! Like I said, really quick and easy! hee hee...

I also combined this challenge with #45 sketch from Inspired Blueprints.

I have been busy scrapping away this week with the Kim Archer round 2 projects and yesterday my box of goodies arrived from the Boxx. Guess I now know what I am doing this week-end!

:(...

Who else is feeling snowed under at the moment, with the world closing in on you?

Well, I am. And on top of that I have a serious bout of hay fever today!! YUCK!! I promise to post again soon...xx

(By the way... I am so open to suggestions as to how to flick this awful, head exploding, sneezing epidemic! LOL! Yep. It is that bad!)

Nerd alert!...

Yesterday we went to the movies as a family and saw.."How to train your dragon". It was in 3D and I was apprehensive about it because I didn't think Ethan would enjoy the movie so much if he had to wear the glasses. Unfortunately, we really didn't have much of a choice but to watch it in 3D, especially with organizing a babysitter for Cam.

So, off we went, hoping that the 3D effects would be worth the extra cost of the movie! LOL!

We got to the cinema And tried out the glasses... As I expected, they didn't last too long on Ethan's face. :( They were too big and they kept slipping off his cute little nose! He eventually fell asleep (which I think was a good thing in the end - rather than let him watch a blurry movie) on Daddy's lap.

Ironically, when we get home, Ethan wanted to wear his "nerd" glasses around the house!!! Too cute an opportunity not to take a few snaps! LOL!

And by the way, the movie was fantastic! We loved it...xx

School holidays, Easter break and a whole lot of other stuff...

Phew!!! It's going to be one of those "bitsa" blog entries...You know...Bitsa this, bitsa that! :)

I guess I should start off with the Easter long weekend and our camping trip. It was so nice to get away for a while. Even though the roads were busy and the camp ground packed to the rafters, we all really had a great time. (Excluding the part where my niece was taken to hospital due to an asthma attack.. ) We went with our usual camping family plus Mum, Dad and my two nieces, Simone and Hayley.

This cheeky boy was accommodating and stayed relatively immobile in his portable cot, but I can now confirm, since being home, he has been all go, go, go with his crawling!!! (note to self: 9 months to the day he was born).

We found a beautiful place to camp near Imbil, along the river, under this massive tree.

And we did quite a bit of relaxing...well, as much as you could with 11 children in tow...! LOL!

Ten of them being very active and 1 trying to be!! We went kayaking, swimming and on bush walks. Saw an eel, some cows and plenty of butterflies! We even went to the local markets.

And then there was Easter morning....Yes, chocolate for breakfast!! Try and stop them! LOL!

Cam's first Easter....

And the egg hunt...which resulted in this bucket load... hee hee!! (It was divided out 10 ways!)

So that was our Easter break. Since then, we have been enjoying the company of Nanny, Grandad Jim and the girls. School holidays have been more running around and playing with the cousins than anything really constructive, but the kids love that!

And there is one final piece of news. I have made it into the top 15 shortlist for the Kim Archer @home support team. The second round finishes next Friday, so I have some work cut out for me to create three amazing projects. And they better be amazing because there is some serious talent in that shortlist... oh, and little ole me! :)
